Congratulations
You got the older version too with the modified eta movement which is thinner and more collectible as a smaller number was made (compared to the current version)
Enjoy it
That was one of the decisive points. I like the look of the new one a little better with the shield logo, but I think If I ever get bored I will be able to sell this one a little faster than the new one. I just ordered a brown leather strap for it, and maybe I´ll buy a Black/Blue RubberB strap in the future.

This early 1960s Gruen Geneve Powerdate was a "bonus" watch included in a lot watches I had purchased for one specific piece. It cleaned up nicely and is getting significant wrist time. The case is a Taubert/Borgel "waterproof" having the signature decagonal screw down back. I love the architecture of these cases throughout their evolution from the original very angular octagonal cases from the early 1930s to the smoothed out octagonal cases of the Mido Multifort Powerwinds of the 1950s to this 1960s Gruen Powerdate.

It's not often I play this game, however today was one of those bouncing-on-seat-waiting-for-delivery-guy-days.
Its brilliant, although Zodiac did get a bit 'micro brand' and shipped a load sans map that should be included. That will turn up later I've been assured.
Looks awesome! So many people flipping those as soon as they got their confirmation. Looks like you're keeping it. I thought about it for a day too long. I'm still considering the "creamsicle", though. If not for the Domestic Control officer, I'd have it now.

Yep, seen a lot being flipped for bonkers money, this one is staying put with me.

Hi, yes it is 3506.31! and it is different from the other "Schumacher" Legend. In my opinion rarer, because usually I see the other.
Exactely, it has “Michael Schumacher The Legend” engraving in red on the case back, as you can see in the pic.

Usually I write down a description when I purchase a watch, so maybe these info could be useful for you:

"Stainless steel case, diameter 42 mm, scratch-resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal, White dial with black/silver sub-dials, stick hands. Stainless steel Omega bracelet ref. 1620/887 with double-folded deployant closure, screw-in case back.
Automatic Omega Cronograph Movement caliber 3301, based on Piguet 1285 movement. A fine example of a superior chronograph, this movement has a vertical coupling that ensures instantaneous actuation of the chronograph hand when the pusher is pressed, a column-wheel mechanism for precision starting, stopping and resetting of the chronograph functions, as well as the Omega free sprung-balance for excellent stability of the watch’s going rate. Furthermore, the movement is an officially certified COSC chronometer and has a power reserve of 55 hours. Impermeability up to 10 bar (100 meters / 330 feet)".

So, I pulled the trigger on a 3506.31 and should accept delivery next week. I’ll post some pics when it arrives.

Mrs.1128 and I spent a fantastic couple of weeks in Japan this month. Cherry blossoms, many miles walked, Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, art, history, and all the wonderful culture and delicious food. It is a lovely country and we cannot wait to go back.

Also, we looked at watches, a lot of watches. We went to many of the well known spots; Jackroad, the grey market Nakano Broadway sellers, Bic Camera, Wako (for Grand Seiko and others), Zenith and the Ginza Omega boutique. A truly incredible selection overall.

But it wasn't until we went to the new Seiko Dream Square (opened December 2108), that I found something that really caught my eye and I knew I wanted in my collection.

The Seiko Presage Urushi Byakudan-nuri limited edition. The level of craftsmanship is off the charts. Handling this immediately after trying on the newest Grand Seiko's (Baselworld 2019) there was no tailing off of quality or finish.

Here is a link to the Fratello article in November 2018 that describes the piece and the process:
https://www.fratellowatches.com/seiko-presage-urushi-byakudan-nuri-spb085/

There were three examples for sale on site (each dial is unique and I had a favorite...), and despite wanting to get it on the spot, we were headed off to Kyoto for four days, returning to Tokyo after, so I decided to give it a few days and think it over.

When we returned, each of the three examples had sold, but they had just received two others, so with no further hesitation we selected number 3xx / 2000.

And also a short video from Seiko:

Disney World in a couple of weeks, felt like a new vacation watch was in order, enter the GA-2000. I’m really impressed by the new bands, much more flexible and comfortable than previous g-shocks I’ve owned or tried on.

I thought I’d swap to the black strap right away but I’m enjoying the red.

I've been passively looking for a 1162/148 bracelet for my Flat Jedi for a while - finally saw a near-NOS one on Ebay and got it today...

Found a NOS Timex Fast Fit with unusual end pieces.
Other Fast fits have the adjustment in the center, this has adjustments on each end.

Got it for my P3 Bulova. The gold tone if the, lighting isn't throwing off the shade, may be closer to the darker gold tone of the Bulova than other more yellow gold tone bands I've tried.
Either way it looked to be a steal at $7 with free shipping.

I recently posted the attached enameled Oscar Fresard pendant watch on the Art Deco thread...thought you might find it interesting...cheers.

Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing it again. Pieces then were unique pieces of artistic design. Lovely to see them.

My second Tissonic has arrived. Something special about a full set. This one seems to have retailed in Britain, I bought it from a Queenslander. Luckily the box is plastic, it has several generations of sticky tape on it.

I was trying to get a good deal on my next Omega, emailing resellers and grey market dealers, but the upcoming price increase motivated me yesterday, and so I went to the mall and bought it at retail (less 10%) plus sales tax. But hey, I got a warranty and I supported my local business.

I believe that this is my fifth Omega.

Phone camera does not do the color justice. This weekend I'll take some good pictures with a real camera.

This arrived today . Wears much smaller on the wrist than I expected for a 42mm. Very pleased with the purchase.
