NFW. Did it come with any fleas or were they an additional charge?

So eBay had a 20% off sale last week for father's day (here in US, at least) so I thought it would be a good opportunity to pick up some accessories which have been on my list for some time now.

I got a Bergeon 6767f spring bar tool, A very-cheap-but-does-the-trick loupe, and an inexpensive watch roll (which I believe @cicindela had recommended a while back - Thanks!)

Yep, I bought 2 of those, thought they were a good value. Mine are work well and are holding up great.

Last watch I bought was a limited edition tag, only
1000 made. I bought this about a month ago. One of my favourite watches to wear, it was gonna take a lot to beat my speedmaster, and truthfully comes on par.😟

Not an Omega, but I hope you will permit:
This Bulova type A-11 arrived today. It is just like the one issued to my grandfather, a waist gunner (and Distinguished Flying Cross recipient) on a Boeing B-17 during WW2. Grandpa’s watch is still in the family, but I couldn’t resist obtaining one I could wear when thinking of him. I photographed it here with his personal garrison cap, issued to him as a US Army Air Corpsman. Grandpa survived the war and lived to be a farmer and businessman, and an all around great man. Hope you enjoy,
Cheers

purchased the parts necessary to build my own watch....why? because I wanted to see if I could do it and because I could.

I'm not sure the protocol on providing links and sourcing, but google "how to build a mechanical watch" and you will find several DIY tutorials. Sourcing the movement and case was a bit more of a challenge.

ETA 6497-1 movement - there's only a handful of places that sell them, a search will turn them up quickly. I decided to stay away from the "china clones".
Dial - I also purchased a blue sunray B-Uhr dial and hands with the thought of switching when I want to. Wife likes the cream/white dial so I'll probably buy another movement and case.
Case came from the same place as the dial; not sourced in the US, I'll leave it at that

running around -30s/day; I know the movement could do better but it's close enough for me.

fun project

Mighty nice.
I finally found some 26mm dials to finish my build. Next I'll look for some nice hands.
The dials I found had the Longines logo, but I intend to refinish whichever dial fits best or can be made to fit and apply my own markers.

Not my oldest Speedy but just got this 145.022-76 and am really impressed by the condition (was an online auction buy with only one not so great photo), the dial, hands, bezel, and case are immaculate (ignore the gunk on the inner part of the bezel that I haven't cleaned off yet) and it had never been opened/serviced before (or at least was without servicing marks and the back gasket was gone-to-goo like the old ones do.

Interesting QC error on the minute hand (see the macro), the cutout for the minute hand lume is a little off but seems completely original to me. Anyone else seen this before?
