He @MMMD has so many amazing watches, and there's no use in 'Dibsing' since he's taking all of his with him to the after-life 馃榿!

Needless to say, I was ecstatic when this one popped up...

Had insomnia last night. 4 hours hunting on Ebay and this is what I get for not sleeping. Coming in from the other side of the globe:

Dec 1971 6119-8490 with original green bezel and Khaki dial. Case looks like the chrono case used on the Pogue's.
38mm
Oh yeah, I broke the $50 barrier on this one but it's worth every penny I paid and then some I think.

Great find. A relative of my first automatic, I reckon:

Received a watch I ordered awhile back, another Indian refurb.
The dial and back says Fortis but the movement is signed CAMY with the Camy logo.

The watch didn't work at first then I noticed the back wasn't fully closed. The back popped off easily and I discovered the plastic retainer ring had been inserted backwards. After squaring that away the watch started running and for the last seven hours has kept perfect time.
I only got this one because I liked the dial, an off white with a fine ghostly spider web design that you can barely see. Its much easier to tell the time with this in low light conditions.

Wondering about the watch being assembled wrong got me thinking it may have been opened up by customs seeking smuggled gem stones or the like. Lots of gem smuggling in that region these days.

I know these refurbs have no collector interest or value, but in looking into these I've learned a bit about the ST96 Swiss standard movements and the variants. Also they are so cheap you couldn't but the case alone at such a low price.
I bought a ST96 4 calendar movement recently and IIRC it would fit one of these generic cases should I not find something better. I already ordered a complete case for the 138.311 movement I got awhile back. just have to find properly sized hands and dials with date windows for these projects.

Woohooo

Some Vintage diver fun,got both for under $50.00

16.59 USD

$28.50 USD

Those look nice and clean, how do they run?

Are you going to re-lume the markers? The tritrium paint used for gunsights is usually available fairly cheap. I've been considering re-luming a couple of older radium dial watches.

No money left for a real Universal Geneve Polerouter Sub, but found this double signed Kelton with pin level movement for a fraction of cost.

Wow.
How does it produce such a high level of illumination?
Is there some electronic component?

In a build-it-and-they-will-come turn of events, I have now - exactly one year after buying a set of fantastic art deco bakelite boxes - finally bought my first rectangular Tissot 馃榿

The boxes are incredibly slim and even the 33mm Tissot sat next to them is too wide to fit!
