Good catch! 😀

Is that a Keleran strap? Looks a lot like their product 👍

Thank you Troels.

It does look identical to their's and is good quality for the price. I ordered it on Amazon from "Real Leather Creations".

My 3rd Australian JLC WWW, bottom spring bar seems to be original “fixed” bar.

That is a beauty Dre! The subdial almost as a navy blue/Grey sheen to it. And those lume plots are my favorite shade of vintage. Dibs🥰(no rush😁)!

Trigger finger has been twitching on this one for quite some time. In the end,

Won't get it until tomorrow. Slightly concerned about the height, but we'll see. Got it for a great price, so I won't lose anything if it's not for me. But super excited.. 😀

Worried about nothing. 👍 I've got quite small wrists but maybe it's more to do with the shape of them and where you wear it on the wrist. Height not an issue at all. Love this watch... 🥰

Been on the lookout for one of these for years. The "S Wave" is an historically significant watch for Seiko. Note the use of a signed crown which is usually reserved for their high end dress watches.

Incoming Waltham/Blancpain diver.

Does anyone here have one of these ?
Any idea on the size ?

They're not identical - but I picked up one recently.

I wanna say 34mm off the top of my head for mine

Yes, 34mm. And the one above, while also made by Waltham, is otherwise not related to this model, nor to Blancpain. In other words, unlike this model, I do not believe that it shares any parts with the Blancpain divers of the era.

A bit of a tricky promise, that... Every time that beauty was strapped on the wrist is certain to have been a very special occasion 🥰

Does not necessarily apply to new/current owner. 😀 Wearing it is a very special occasion all in all!

At the beginning of July I picked up a ladies watch. It's so far from fashionable; so very much not the sort of thing I tend to buy; but it seemed a little diamond in the rough. I seem to recall it cost me £12.20. It's dated 1926. It's a Swiss maker that was imported through James Weir's in Glasgow. It's so very early art deco. And this is what it looked like when I picked it up:

Well, three months (almost to the day) later, she's had a full service, a new winding wheel, a fresh crystal and a new strap. With a bit of a polish ...

Sorry for the poor light - you're just going to have to trust me when I tell you it's a really good coloured rose gold and the amount of work that was put into that dial is unbelievable. Love this little thing. Off to the shop she goes!

Yes, 34mm....

The question was really about the Hamilton as I already have one of the plated versions of the BP Waltham, but thanks for the info and picture of your nice example. Mine arrived a couple of days ago and looks OK but the bezel is frozen solid so I'll need to try and free that up. I guess I'll have to be careful not to damage the insert though.

And the Hamilton turns out to be 34mm too, although it looks smaller. Seems to run but winding was stiff/rough, which on investigation seems to be because the movement ring isn't lined up correctly and is contacting the stem inside the case. Is that an easy fix ?

Couldn't resist, put down a deposit today on one of these (scheduled to ship next month). I worked for over half my career in the coal mining industry, so a watch called the 'Black Lung' strikes me as a little creepy -- but I understand the name's origin 😀

I bought six watches yesterday although I wanted to buy nine.

One of the ones that got away was a WWI JLC pocket watch. I spent a few hours on Friday thinking about this one: the dial was broken into three pieces; it had a very (I mean abysmally) bad Repair with what looked like tar .... But the more I thought about it, the more I thought the repair was a period one. Like, the owner broke his watch in the trenches and found something to stick it back together with. The dial wasn't centred; the mainspring broken; a damaged wheel ... still sold for three or four times where I placed it.

Still, I got an original WDP Cinderella, circa 1956; a nice ladies Buren; a broken Snoopy, Worst Witch and a gorgeous ladies Green driver all with issues (but, come on - a ladies Gruen driver! When did you ever see one of these? And such a great dial). There's also a Mickey Mouse, not pictuered.

First three will be in the shop in an hour; the Gruen is going to be beyond my capabilities (and vision) with a broken screw needing to come out and be replaced while Snoopy and that horrible Citron will get some attention later today.

Oh ... bought myself some cufflinks too ...
