It followed me home, honest... Behold the glory of the Panerai 1950 3 Days GMT. (P.9012 Movement) Lume shots, you say? OK... It was all the wife's doing. Really - She's an enabler. She also sweet talked the AD into giving us a second strap, and a discount, and two rather nice cups of coffee whilst we sealed the deal. All that and claiming the GST back? Well, it'd have been rude not to.
can you please have your wife call my gf and teach her the ways? You definitely scored big time on that one, the watch is just a bonus.
Oh my. She's a beauty. I just bought a Viceroy and looking forward to posting up a pic when she arrives. congrats!
I bought this last month and immediately dropped it off with my watchmaker, as it had a loose rotor. Originally had a glossy black gilt dial; the 1601 is from 1964. Just picked it up today!
This is one of the coolest watches I've bought in a looong time. 60s era triangle watch made by Orfina, labeled for Spritzer and Fuhrmann, a jewelry dealer in the Dutch Antilles (south Caribbean...Curacao, Aruba, Sint Maarten). Its from the Chuck Barris estate (the game show producer...Dating Game, Newlywed Game, Gong Show, etc). On the Timegrapher its running +20secs/day, so I may just wear it and not fuss with regulation.
Ahh so you are the one who got it Enjoy, its a great looking watch. I had a lot of ebay bucks building up and I really like the dial on this watch, so I pulled the trigger. It was chump change after all my ebay bucks were applied. Hope to have it early next week.
Yes that was me! [emoji15] I highly recommend the seller Blake as well, great guy to work with. That's a helluva dial, a ton of character. Congrats!
Been out for business travel the past month or so. Still not home, but had this one sent directly to my current whereabouts. Lemania cal 5100 "world timer" ref 11002. Bought some time ago, but not arrived until now. Regular black NATO until I get back home again. Will need to source a correct crown, but otherwise I am a very happy collector right now! The late Chuck Maddox was chasing one. I have not seen anywhere that he managed to land one before he passed? http://chronomaddox.com/wanted.html#Lemania_"World-Time"_Chronograph Edit: He actually found one! If anyone should wonder: Yes! This has the very same case as the RAN cal 5100 / SAAF Lemania cal 5012.
I see a number of Norwegian tourists where I live (Aalborg, Denmark) - why don't you come down here for some cheap(ish) beer and show off your collection at some point??
My little black 37mm '77 Timex Automatic Day/Date showed up today. Just a little spit shine on the crystal and should be ready to go! Need to tank up on my patience reserve before I go about setting the day and date though
Heuer Autavia Viceroy 1163V just arrived today. Please forgive the Nato. I do not own many 20mm straps. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good leather strap? Possibly a rally/racing strap.
I would recommend a Giuliano black racing strap, that looks like the original Corfam this watch would have come on.
Thanks for the recommendation. Giuliano seems to have a great reputation, but rather elusive brand. Well, Gee, now I NEED one. Does anyone have a link for purchase?
You need to email him, but he's very responsive and a super sweet guy. He'll walk you through your options. Last address I had for him was [email protected]
