When I grow up I want a Zenith like this. How long is the dibs list? (oops, I'm grown up already, darn).
So of course the day after I decided to go with a strap for my 168.017, my n00b watch that came with phony endlinks, the wrong bracelet, a polish, and lastly a redial, I got an alert that a like NOS 1040 bracelet was available. The pictures weren't great and I asked the seller what numbers were stamped into the endlinks. 518 was the reply so I held my breath and clicked the Buy It Now. It arrived yesterday. I did try to install it myself as I'd succeeded with the strap, but four sprung-away/dropped spring bars later, I decided to have my watchmaker do it today as I was going there anyway with @Kreindog24. I think it's a vast improvement and I feel like I can respect it now and wear it more often. Plus I have a great strap if I ever decide to change it. And the before, which drove me nuts starting about 3 months after I bought it in November 2011 when I learned the endlinks were just phony and the bracelet was for a Geneve.
Just got a beautiful panerai 42 mm PAM 512 with a manual wound in house movement....I always loved panerai dials for their simplicity but was against the larger size watches...This seems like the best of both worlds for me...
I just acquired my first and only Omega watch (or any real watch for that matter), and I am in the "baby it" stage still. I love it. I'm also sure it won't be my only watch forever.
Congrats on the acquisition! Be careful the WIS disease is very infectious, and OF only makes it better(worse). Welcome!
Bought this at a watch fair this morning. Needs a little work but happy to have it as I think I bought it well.
I love this reference with the pencil hands, I sometimes miss the one I had...on to greener pastures.
