Haven't bought a watch all year (edit: >~365 days), but pulled the trigger on this CS3110. Seller's pics, en route.

Been looking for a nice gray strap for some time now. Found a very nice one from Camille Fournet.

Ok! I shouldn't have but -

Not in the flesh for a while, still time to concoct a story for Mrs. 😉
Hello. New to the forum and I apologize for hijacking this thread. I did not know where to start. I purchased a NOS Chronograph Suisse with a Landeron 48 movement. Not solid gold. It is 38 mm. Paid $400.00. The movement is used and serviced. I was researching these watches and it appears they were mass produced for the European tourist movement. Did I make a mistake purchasing or pay too much. Thank you.

Hard to tell without more information.

Pictures or a link to the sales website might help.

Thank you for your reply. I only have modern pieces such as Breitling, Maurice Lacroix, Tissot and Oris. No mechanical pieces. I may have jumped the gun without doing my research on Chronograph Suisse.

Thank you for your help.

Create a thread for these types of questions. A mod might be able to create a thread for the above questions. @dsio @cicindela

Did you make a "mistake"? Depends on what you thought you were buying. You are right in your research, these were cheap watches in their day. The gold is wafer thin, and not particularly structurally solid. That being said, I think you've got yourself an elegant dress watch, which should be able to withstand an occasional wedding or night at the opera. Just don't take it camping!

I put a deposit down on this a couple of weeks ago and picked it up Today. It is my 50th B-day present from my wife, so most likely I will have to hand it over when I get home tonight and wont see it again until 2/19 🙁

There's an easy way to solve that problem, don't go home. 😁

Upgrading my work watch
Got this exact watch from my wife for Christmas. Love it. Proudly sits right next to my Speedmaster and Tudor Black Bays in my collection. Seiko 5's are fantastic!
