Pick this up for my wife.. as she showing more and more interest in vintage watches...it's ticking away nicely
If you like the style, and I really do, these are probably the best value for money in vintage. Eight day movements that are built like ... a tank
Just came in hot off the Bay 136.041. I got this one for well under $200. Literally scraped off the grime, polished the crystal, strap. I don't think the caseback had been off before. The cal 613 movement in amazing condition.
Not totally out of the game Replacing some of the military pieces I owned back in the day and I always had a soft spot for the A-17A Voila Now the waiting begins.
This old looker is new to me. It's my first vintage Speedmaster, and I'm definitely feeling the magic. Cheers, -GW
That is a nice looking Speedy. To hone my skills, I'm thinking a 145.012-70 ish? DON, short minute markers, flat tail chrono sweep, printed logo, step dial, and appears to be a 1039 w/ 516's?
Hi there. You're close, it's a 145.022-69. Yes on the DON. Sounds like you know more about minute markers and chrono sweeps than I do, because I have no idea. Yes on the printed logo and the step dial. And the bracelet is stamped "No. 12" with 47 endlinks. Feel free to chime in with more info, that's what I'm here for. Thanks, -GW
Got a Globemaster from Watch-u-want's eBay seller page, and at an absolute steal. It comes in on Tuesday, and I am ELATED. Unfortunately, I got a price good enough that I really should flip it and realize the profit. We'll see if I keep it or not...
I wanted to exercise financial restraint and responsibility in the new year....it lasted a week and a half.
Good catch. I'll make sure to give it a thorough look over when it arrives. I have 14 days to return it if it isn't acceptable.
They say it's under warranty and said in writing that the date is perfectly centered, so I should be covered.
That's a really nice example. I was tempted myself even though I already have one. Dude, you're a watch-hoovering machine! Another nice snag.
