Just bought this off eBay, waiting for delivery. Can anyone tell me who could maybe restore this one.
I tried to track down all I could ... a number of dials were bought by Heuer from Abercrombie & Fitch in the mid 50s and one dial is in the Heuer museum, but no complete watch. The "alarm" in the exact configuration mine's in was in the 1957 catalogue, in France/Switzerland (printed in French, so I'm guessing). That's all paraphrased from half a dozen sources but I never found any reference to the star. If you do find out more, let me know.
Dibs on yet another Alpina of yours. Love that grey dial. Maybe I'm just being a stickler for condition but all the ones I find look like they've been through a garbage disposal.
Hope not to be honest. With all the Omega shenanigans going on re the Speedy Tuesday LE, I almost feel that this has become a secondary acquisition, but here it is, my own little Grail finally snagged and no loose and vicarious nod on the back to anyone other than the maker. I like that about it...
