I had been looking for a rose gold Longines and also for a rectangular Longines... It's gold filled but was a no brainer. As fate would have it, it was posted by an Italian collector with whom I'd had really nice conversations before.

I saw @watchdaddy1 wearing one of these in WRUW thread a few weeks ago and inquired about it. Turned out to be a group design on another watch forum. There were a few left for sale at a VERY attractive price so I ordered one.

About 37.5mm case size - I requested the acrylic crystal. I was surprised the lug width is 11/16 - 17.5mm; very retro...

I also opted for the full metal caseback instead of the offered exhibition sapphire back. The movement is a hand wind chrono.

The signed crown is a nice touch:

Pretty cool piece for the price of a nice dinner for two at a good restaurant...
right on [emoji106] glad you like it

Some of you kmow I enjoy military watches, and French issued Type 20/21 are a particular interest. I have been trying to flatter @Ludi into selling me his Auricoste for some time now, alas to no avail. 🙁

He did come through for me though, as he pointed me to this very nice Auricoste for sale on a French forum. Would never have seen it otherwise.

Another ringing endorsement for the fine community we have here on OF. Thank you Fred!👍

A crappy pic, I know, but all I got right now it is headed off to the spa for some further TLC tomorrow.

To say that I got a good deal on this cal. 19.65 alarm pocket watch would be a gross understatement.

Well, since you asked, it's the icing on the cake. The majority of these superb movements were apparently rhodium plated. [edited; thanks to @DirtyDozen12 for pointing out that they aren't as uncommon as I had thought]

Thank you kindly; it is a very attractive movement.

For what it's worth, there are quite a few gilt examples on the Google.

Speaking of Longines pocket watches...something from Constantinople. Came as part of a lot with an Elgin (also working) and unmarked pocket watch.

I see myself steering towards Omega and Longines in my collection...

A Fab. Suisse Longines? In outstanding condition?!? One part of me is deeply, gravely, violently envious of you finding these pieces and the other part is deeply grateful that you are saving me from complete bankrupcy.

EDIT:

A Fab. Suisse Longines? In outstanding condition?!?

Add "BLOODY WELL ISSUED AS WELL?!?!?! YOU BASTARD!!!" to that.

I shall credit you with an "assist" on this one, as we did discuss the seller. And you do have first dibs on the Auricoste by the way. 😉

If you really want one I have a friend who's got a stash (but not all in such good condition so the financial damage can be somewhat contained 😀)
