Your problem was you discussed it before the event rather than discussing it after the event.
Good Luck.

I don't know if it's just me. The dial printing is concerning. Did your watchmaker have any comment on this?

Larry, the dial looks fine to my eyes...from Martin's photo.

Perhaps it is the photo. Rolex is usually so perfect and the printing looked inconsistent. Perhaps I'm just paranoid given the redials on the market.

Bought it from the first owner, who bought it new in the early 70ies. Besides I do regard the dial to be original, I have one more that I compared with, I have very hard to see why the first owner should redial his beater. Why bother, the watch has been in a drawer for a very long time

Finally found one locally, reasonably priced as well. One of the goals for 2016 😉

Very very low price on eBay. Needs to be cleaned up a bit. But just got the delivery notice so I have something to look forward to when I get out of work.

After cycling through a 2254 SMP (sold), A great White GMT (sold), a Rolex GMT coke (sold), an Oris Divers 65 (sold), a Damasko (sold) and a Rolex Explorer 2 (sigh, sold) I bought this watch and received it yesterday. I am more excited about it than pretty much any watch I have ever owned- funny how things sometimes come full circle.....

3 things.
Firstly a beautiful Omega Genève arrived from eBay. Then I went to a local watchmaker who had recently found a stash of vintage Omega straps in their storage and bought one. Lastly, I walked upstairs to the Omega boutique and purchased a 14mm gold plated buckle.

I bought a Seiko SKX 173 some time ago on a whim. Found some issues with it like no back gasket and a movement that would quit running. But I liked the way it wears. I found that there is a new movement Seiko is putting in some of their new watches that addresses some deficiencies in the old 7S26. The NH36 has hand winding and hacking features. I have decided to put one of these in the old case.

I'll have to cut the stem to fit the new crown and swap the day wheel so it shows correctly at 4 o'clock.

I finally had some time to do this movement swap.

The trickiest part, or at least the part that required the greatest patience, was re-attaching the seconds hand.

(the old movement is shown to the right)

Fun, fun,fun!

Second Omega in a week......I was hoping to have my Datejust sold first but I jumped on a blue dialled Aqua Terra 2500.
