Seiko is from 1984. Wrist shot in WRUW.
Mudman G-Shock was my first ever charity shop find. Still had to cough up $30 but it's for a good local charity.
Still managed to dither for two days
🙄
Saw it on first visit.
Wandered off and did my phone/internet research
😒 but got it wrong and was looking up the Solar powered Mudman
😟
Went back and realised my mistake.
Went home to sleep on it and did more internet (WUS
😗) research and found out it's nicknamed 'the Stormtrooper' and that several people had ordered sight unseen based on the nickname and were shocked/disappointed with the colour when it arrived.
😜
I don't see the Star Wars connection myself. Some have even compared it to the Millennium Falcon
To me it just speaks to my Walter Mitty desert warfare fantasies.
😉
Went back on day two and asked to have a look at it.
Couldn't get the Dual Illuminator to work but decided I had so much time invested in it that I'd take it anyway
🤨
Took it home and washed off all the genuine Mudman mud
🤮.
Luckily there are youtube videos showing how to hold it under a warm running tap and add handsoap.

Spent the rest of the day searching for instructions and others who might have had the light failure as well.
It was looking like I might have to dismantle it, watch out for some flying springs and then bend some switch contacts.
Fortunately a car forum came to the rescue - Pistonheads 1

and I found out that the light button only works in lowlight conditions. Who'd have thunk it?
