Finally picked this up today. Need to get 2 links taken out, and then I am good to go. Pressure test when I see my watchmaker, and then happy time. (pun intended)
After what I think is my longest 'dry spell' ever since discovering vintage watches and the OF (one month!) I just nabbed two. This, a few hours ago from Kyle:
...then this, from a member I didn't know before, but is a really great guy, and an avid watch guy (or, collector? ), David @Dgercp :
A coffee table watch book, probably not to be used as a dedicated reference but nice to look at. Definitely not MWO or AJTT. My daughter bought me the ceramic squirrel.
Been looking for a nice Heuer Camaro. I love how the dial on this reference changes so radically with angle and lighting.
A nice oversized (38mm) IWC that came with a little bonus! Very happy. I just love an aged crystal as a sign of authenticity.
Truly radical! Think I must get one of them, that black/white effect by simply turning it 180° is amazing.
Jonatan– Very nice IWC! Have you noticed the little sayings that some members put under their screen names? You could add "Crazy about crazing".
Thanks, Tony! I need to get the back open to know what it is. I saw it locally, noticed the ages crystal and figured it had to be legit. Plus it had the right amount of dirt on it. It was a gamble that I hope will pay off. I just hope it's not too big for my wrist.
Today it's 39mm of '60's funky, chunky, date at six, lollipop hand, Wittnauer alarm weirdness. I sniped it off eBay for cheap and plan to have some fun with it. I suppose a squiggly alarm hand would have been too much to hope for. Seller pic.
Research material. Got myself an IWC fournitures catalog. The quality of the images is fantastic, and the book is in mint condition. Thanks @Tony C. for the suggestion.
slightly concerning how the vintage crystal seems to hide the tachymeter track in some light though....
