Dibs!!!
I came pretty close to pulling the trigger on this one, too... it was in our FS Forum for more than a few days, I think...
Do you two not check the FS Threads and you missed this one?!?
Every once in a while I seem to be in the right place at the right time. Last night, just as I was getting ready to go to bed, I got an email from
Seiya Japan that there was a Presage SARX027, with enamel dial, available. Since the watch is sold out, I have only been able to find it through eBay sellers or on other forums for a couple hundred more than list. I bought the SARX019, with roman numerals, but for some reason, it wasn't as appealing as the 27 so I gave it to my, now, son-in-law as a wedding gift (yes, it was still in the box). Anyway, I jumped on it and am pretty happy.
Add this to the luck of finding a Citizen "Speedy" 67-9313, in decent shape, on Thursday and this has turned out to be a pretty good week.
IWC has always been on my "respected" list in terms of vintage quality.
I simply could not resist this one. Despite the sellers attempts at making it look bad.......
Cal 83. Early 1940s?
Not many around with an original black dial.
Sellers pics (heavily edited in order to make something out of it). Catalog pic from the IWC forum (1941).

Staying away from big ticket items and exploring minuscule (and cheap) women's watches....
This arrived today, a true piece of art deco design with mixed gold and steel -- but it will need repair.
Then I won this today for 36 euros -- initially for a donor movement but I won't have the stomach to take it apart.
Very impressive pieces S.! 馃グ You are amassing quite a collection of miniature Longines. I look forward to a dedicated thread on these sub 29mm gems.
