After buying my Submariner around new year I said to myself that it was the last watch buy in some time (and the wife hinted as much as well). Unfortunately when I reviewed my small collection I noticed, to my horror, that I needed a proper automatic beater. My Omega Seamaster, cal. 267 from 1959 sort of has had that role, but it means a lot to me since I bought it two days before my first daughter was born and it was my first proper watch. So I try to look after it. I then read a couple pieces on the new Seiko SRP777, which looked really good and that lead me to the SKX007. I recognized it but I have never really been into Seikos. After reading about it on several watch sites/blogs, I decided that it was what I was looking for. Also Hodinkee wrote that they stopped making them, which apparently was bullshit, I later found out, so I bought one quick. And it arrived today. Must say I am impressed in all ways one can be impressed over a watch. I have been missing out. I could buy 30 of them for what I gave for the Sub and even without the price difference, I would say that it gives the Sub a run for its money. Well done Seiko... The bracelet is weird and seems like it has enormous stretch from new but somehow I really like it. As everyone says, it gets the job done.
Because it's never too early to guarantee that you'll be the most Dude-like dude at the office Christmas party.
Finaly hands on a Pogue. At this stage I'm still in denial about having an obsession with watches worn in space.
Thanks to @JohnSteed I now have my first pie pan . Unfortunately it's with my in-laws in the States and I'm in the UK so I have to wait patiently to get my hands on it . They are not the best photographers in the world so I'll shamelessly steal a photo from the FS listing to show this beauty!
That is huge! There are Newman Daytonas, Maddox grails AND MadDog straps. There are of course "OF mod quartz" also...
