Bagged this 341 on the bay.

Any thought ye experts on whether this is the real deal?

Today I bought something, but until I see it in the flesh, you'll just have to wait. As a clue, there are three watches I am adding to the collection this year and this is one of them. Two are Omega and one isn't. I am also allowing myself additional project and parts watches.

For the closer followers of the forum, it isn't the 105.003.

So. After a nearly two week wait, here it is:

With 216 ends and 8 working expanding links.

Looks like a decent snag. 馃憤 It's a little rough but should clean up nicely.

Good Day Today!

Got a present from the postman!

Have a look: Payed on wednesday, shipped yesterday from Milano, recieved today in Graz ... a little bit dirty but allready on the way to Omega Service Autria for a big Service - hopefully after that in real mint conditions 馃榾 The important point, everything is original and the package is complete!

The one and only (out of 5.441) Omega Speedmaster 'Snoopy Award' 馃榿DDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Best Regards,
Hans

Pawn Shop, 500 bucks. I'm sort of thinking a box of rocks show up but we'll see. This thing is is almost 39mm which makes it very modern sized. Those Landeron 51's are monsters which I guess was bad in the old days but good in the new days.

the dust cover kept the movement almost brand new and the watch still has the original lead bead. I hope I don't get any more lead poisoning.

Looks more like a Landeron 70 to me.

Here's my Landeron 48 version of the same watch:

The dust cover provides a lot of the structural integrity because the case is made from, what I would describe as sheet gold and the case back is so thin that it can easily get distorted and not snap on.

If you plan on changing the strap, you'll need 20mm female spring bars because the case metal is thin and hollow and would not retain male spring bars so it has protruding bars as you can make out in this photo:

Thank you. I've seen a fair amount of these floating around and I even recall a batch of true "NOS" Chonographe Suisse floating around like a year and half ago or so but, I've never seen the exact one I just purchased. I know the case backs are like tissue paper on these watches but @ 500 bucks I'm not exactly feeling like I got a bad deal... hahaha.

i have an Accurist Superwaterproof 400 w/ a cal 51 and it looks identical to this watch. I guess I'll see it, when I look at it. I'm curious as to what year the watch was made - off the top of my head I'm guessing '68 but I really have no clue. Any idea?

*edit

one more question, if you don't mind: Is the lug width 18mm, 19mm or 20mm on your watch?

Rich. It is the shape of the anchor point for the fly-back lever that makes me think it is a Landeron 70 but I don't know production dates for either that or the 50.

Mine takes 20mm female spring bars.

Just a little plastic recreation :

This new sistem 51 is really an interesting creation. And it's a real swatch, full plastic, fun and terribly noisy

This one:

A little polished, but quite presentable.

Cal. 564 movement, one of Omega's best:

Came with a nice deBeers padded watchband and gift box.

Not perfect, but I like it.
