Picked up what appears to be a nice older well (won't say vintage as I have no clue) worn leather strap and Omega deployant with a loupe, well cause I was paying for shipping anyway might as well have something else in the box Nice fit and broken in like an old ball glove And on the 300 (older acquisition)
Bought the Damasko DA36 for the third time. First one had a bracelet, then I decided I didn't need it, now I decided I did.
The Demasko is on my list. I always think of the DA36 when I think Damasko. A lot of technology for the money. I hear the Demasko bracelets are very nice.
I just now gave this post its own thread (link found below) if you care to comment on this one, thanks!! https://omegaforums.net/threads/76-accutron-with-interesting-provenance.36195/#post-410722 Bought a $5 battery and installed it in my 'not running' $10 estate sale find and put it on appropriate leather; all to good result: a sweet humming noise, excellent time-keeping, and an appealing look: Interesting provenance I found on this watch, too. George E. Amos not only worked for Kodak for nearly 50 years (since he was 18 year old), he also served honorably in the U.S. Army, 65th Division, under General Patton. He was a medic all through Germany during the war, then returned to his home and work in Baltimore, Maryland. This information was found in his obituary from April 2011. http://obits.dignitymemorial.com/di...eorge-Amos&lc=7119&pid=150017494&mid=4621577# Another interesting note is that he was given the watch as a gift from Eastman Kodak on the occasion of his 40th Anniversary with the company, when he was 57 years old... I am also 57 years old! Therefore, I must keep this watch until I find a 57 year-old buyer (or, he/she finds the watch, just as I did!) Like I said at the top: I just now gave this post its own thread (link found below) if you care to comment on this one over there, thanks!! https://omegaforums.net/threads/76-accutron-with-interesting-provenance.36195/#post-410722
@dougiedude or it gets bought at your estate sale for a few bucks like all your gems. Sorry dude couldn't resist
Picked up two watches off eBay from the same seller. These are seller pics, I will probably post more when some other items arrive... First up a Roamer Super Shock with a Brevete caseback: A steal for $38! Then a rather unique Relide with date hand: And this is when the greed of eBay kicks in. The price went from $38 to $173 in about 5 minutes
A very big "wristwatch" landed with my watchmaker today. Initial inspection given thumbs-up. Should I replace the crystal or not? Leaning towards having it replaced, and the old one stored safely. A 27mm handmade strap have been ordered. Need to try it on although this will, at 55mm diameter (without the wide 7mm crown), never be a daily beater! A quick lub and clean will be needed. The movement on the Stowa B-uhr is really stunning looking. Compared to the IWC and A. Lange & Söhne the Stowa is surely the better looking IMHO (Unitas cal 2812):
Really don't need it, but as it was on offer at 44% off and I liked the look, I thought I'd dip my toe into the shallow end of the watch pool.....
