1956 Italian catalogue and price list which came together with a set of 1956 guarantee papers and hang tag. I was hoping for some Constellation action and wasn麓t disappointed with what I found inside. Lots of golden flat link bracelets on both Constellations and Seamasters together with the SM XVI and some other lovelies 馃榾

Here the price of 340000 lira converts in 1956 to $539 for the Constellation 2799 with bracelet

Hi forum.
Hopefully I'm ok to post this lowly offering as it's my first post here?
Have a 2002 seamaster but this is my toe back into the hobby and build up a collection with the expertise and guidance of this forum.
So its a start!

Lovely. Those 50's catalogues/brochures are works of art. 馃槑

Is the brown 'envelope(?)' at the back for the guarantee?
If that is a cut out section on the front then can you please tell me what does it line up with when the contents are inside?

I also went Italian, but a bit more modern, and a little over my normal budget, for this.

Includes plenty of variety from the time period I love most from the Omega range.

Just missed out on some 1968 Timely wrist watch calendars 馃檨
Sorry if I bid anyone here up, but they were a quality 'birth year' set without any advertising on the calendars themselves. Good catch for someone 馃憤 (Pre-reveal Dibs 馃榿 )

That麓s a nice one too, I particularly like the Ploprof picture with the original version red plastic crown and is that a straight seconds hand? I麓ve not seen that before.

You are correct, the envelope is for the warranty papers and the cut out section is to expose the watch serial number of the watch.

This warranty booklet is quite expansive, running to about 16 pages with what looks to be lots of info regarding brand achievements....I, ahem, just need to brush up somewhat on my Italian to understand it 馃榿

Bought this earlier this week. It goes nicely with my black-dialed Century.

This book arrived a few days ago and I've nearly finished already. A great read for the history buffs among us.

Went to the same estate sale that I had gone to on Friday, when I had bought the Hamilton alarm watch. Everything was 60% off because it was ending in 30 minutes. 81e37bf1160e5b4c0a28da641f141e79.jpg 45df45a3b6d16f2d5d1fc7c6c75301af.jpg

$10 and $12!

Popped the back off the Helbros, since these are known for being like a 'box of chocolates':

Interestingly, the Helbros has 'West Germany' at bottom of the dial, and on the movement...

.... so in this case we have 'West German' chocolate Helbros, and not too 'filling' at $10!

This week end was quite interesting.
First I received this modest ref CK730 with a T17 inside, from around 1936 :

Patina but original dial...
I open a thread in the vintage section on this one.

And then there were two other nice finds. More to come in the next days.

Moments ago, driving home with perishable groceries in the car, I decided to stop for a very quick peek at this unusually close estate sale just two blocks from the house!

I didn't expect to see any watches at all, which is the usual around here. But there were a handful of mostly ugly-dialed, quartz watches; but then I saw this.

I like alarms, I don't have a Hamilton, and it seemed interesting, so I bought it even though it wasn't running:

A quick search for Hamilton alarm watch just now, and apparently this one is called the 'Chanticleer', Hamilton's first alarm watch, late 50's from one source I read. I'll open it this evening just for curiosity sake, and then I'll take it to my watchmaker next week.

I think this was not a bad find for only $35 and my first ever 'estate' purchase!

Nice find

I thought this quartz chrono would be a great addition at a sweet price...Classic dial layout and that cool 7a28 movement! And I don't have to worry about getting a DON bezel for it!馃榿
