So I sat my sons, ages 11 and 13, down today. I showed them the Seamaster and the Swatch, and said someday, each of you will get one of these watches. Now, who wants to go shovel that snow?

You've gone pocketwatch parabolic!

You using 'em?

Frankly, I wear very few watches I collect. I don't like to wear watches I don't service and I don't like to service more than one watch a year, at most.

I though about this fact... and realized that if I wasn't going to wear them - I might as well focus more on pocket watches. They're incredibly affordable, compared to wristwatches, and came in countless flavors. It's also a new frontier for me. Very exciting territory.

Mixed emotions about its origins, but it's one h... of a watch.
1942 Stowa WW2 navigators watch. 55mm diameter😵‍💫. Radium enough to go.
Should land in a couple of weeks.
Cheers!
Edit: Funfact...

A serious piece. This deserves a thread upon arrival. 👍

Found this UG with 215-27 microtor movement at a decent price. The case has some pristine facets on the lugs too 🥰

That's a gorgeous piece! 😎

ps: Deafboy's Vulcain Cricket also. 😀

Ok! I admit I am weak and have sinned, all my great intentions fell by the wayside.
Lady "A" approves but perhaps a bit to much 🤔

Buncha enablers around here! 🤦

Seriously though, this thing is awesome. Even though it's a diver, it sits low on the wrist like a Speedmaster, and it strikes me as the modern straight-lug Speedmaster / Autavia that Omega and TAG should be making!

If I were buying a modern JLC watch, this one would be it. Well done. 👍

Still have to make payments - for 18 years - and thereafter
I love fact you think payments stop at eighteen....

The deployment is sexy. Never seen a black one before? What watch you wearing it on? Speedy or Seamaster?
