This little project Seiko. It's a 7223 movement. (I think it is a 7223-6030) In a nutshell it is the Seiko Quartz alarm watch that came along after their iconic Bellmatic. These are not too common. I picked it up for next to nothing so no big loss if it does not work. Should have my hands on it in a couple of days. These were made around 1980 and is one of the last movements made in the seiko quartz golden era which started around 1968 and ended in 1980. Going to need a new crystal ($13 - J-SA2W51HM10 ) and a suitable flat mesh band. With a bit of luck the crystal gasket is still holding up. Cheers, Dan
Yet to be determined, maybe this will soften the blow of a nice A386...they say timing is everything!
Earlier today, I couldn't resist this, sold by our resident strap-maker, Jan, @jankoxxx : I wanted one of these ever since I saw the first on this thread that I started over a year ago, whilst contemplating my first Marvin purchase: another 'Hermetic': https://omegaforums.net/threads/does-the-marvin-brand-ring-many-bells.18483/ I guess you could say: one watch leads to another... and another... and.. (ad infinitum!)..
Arrived today : a nice trench watch, probably a Cl 1801 I'll post a more complete review in the vintage section. [EDIT : Done]
Been waiting on getting the Tudor Pelagos.. Finally got it at a price I couldn't pass up. I had to pull the trigger
This is what it takes to get permission to get more watches. We sure do get short end of the stick. Lol.
Picked this up at the old book shop today...... amused to see the original owner put her name in and dated the book exactly 70 years ago today. maybe it was a Valentines present.
