It doesn't have the usual reverse count-down bezel? They always seem to make more sense to me than the usual ones you see on Rolex's etc
Nice pick up with the hard to find original bracelet/end links. The dial looks sagged a bit toward 4-5 o'clock though. Any pictures of the inside?
Anyone know anything about this particular watch? I bought it because I like the way it looks and it didn't cost much. Crack research!!!!! Looks it may be a "fashion watch" from between the wars?? Or, not. This was basically a deeply discounted add-on to the Bulova... The dial on this watch is drop dead gorgeous, especially under a loupe. Nice movement too (a winder). She's 35mm and I think will look rather nice on an olive drab NATO. Going full BUFF on this one lol
Very nice find! I believe it was a marketing brand of the General Watch Company. I've seen both wrist and pocket watches produced for the military signed Helvetia. Looks like a great example - simple & easy to read. If I had to guess I'd say pre-WWII.
Thank you - I re-read what I wrote and sound like a babbling buffoon lol. Sorry Thank you. I really, really like the collection you've been building. Is it at all possible to put together some group shots? I'm very interested in what you got
Nice! These are great watches - you can get factory service dials for like 20 bucks and they're pretty easy to change but you probably know this already. I wore one week before last for a few days straight - very comfy - easy to read
I remember the day I took this ^^ photo of the citizen - I met and hung with the Tony Hawk that evening at my place. I also saw the hottest girl that day (save for my wife). I went full Uncle Creepy and snapped a photo of her While she was leaving. I'll chop off her head because she deserves privacy but I promise you her face looked nicer than these legs...WOWZER!! /Uncle Creepy!!!!!!
This came in a few weeks ago, but I haven't had a chance to photograph it. It'll need some cleaning and a nice new strap before it's ready for primetime sometime later this winter:
No collection here. As a simple (ton, some might say) enthusiast, what I have is really just "stuff I like". A group shot sounds like too much like work and ain't happening, but they're all in WRUW sooner or later.
You don't see legs like that where I live. This is Nora Batty from "Last of The Summer Wine" which is filmed in my home town of Huddersfield, she's famous for her wrinkled stockings. PS, doubt it'll have made it onto American TV. You aren't missing much
