Coincidence, I just received my new acquisition today, a CK 1064 waterproof from around 1941-42 : A big and thick case. I'll try to make a better picture showing the two tones of the dial... It was the first waterproof Pocket watch made by Omega, created in 1937. Here in a 1941 catalog : and in another 1940 catalog, with two waterproof wristwatches (Naiad with 23.4SC Inside):
I bought this today, but still waiting on the mailman. I cant wait to share wrist photos of this Omega Admiralty Ref 133.015 with a Cal 601. The patina is just beautiful! Note photo is from seller.
ThanksI Yes it is the limited edition re-issue of the US dial. I ordered the strap separately from Strapped for Time - Bomber Jacket Leather. The OEM strap is sublime, but it is a deep black which kind of contrasts with the brown belts and shoes I wear regularly (yes, I'm one of "those" guys - a leather matcher). This strap is technically black leather but I find it is neutral enough to wear with brown or black.
Gosh, Andy, I'm going to have to look at these (i.e., if the budget will permit ) Same! I rarely wear black leather, wrist or otherwise... Congrats on an amazing aquisition!
Thanks, it's a great piece. The strap was only $29.95, so that fits most budgets. The Deep Sea Tributes are much more affordable than the Polaris Tribute, if you're looking for a justification (like my wife bragging about "saving" money at a sale ). And much much cheaper than the original Deep Sea Alarm.
I nearly asked Andy if he picked his up there... Unfortunately, I think that sale ended back in January... Here's hoping the Polaris goes on sale there, next!
If I ever find a $30k watch for $5.99, with my luck I'll get hit by a truck on the way out of the store.
Come on, @Andy K and @x3no , watches this amazing deserve their own, separate 'incoming' thread, so you, and other members can comment endlessly on their beauty!
Received today, Eterna Matic 3000 Sevenday from 1969. I really like the gradient black I managed to set the date by pulling the crown but I have no clue how to set the day (movement 1501K)
It's probably also by pulling out the crown, then turning the opposite direction. Have you tried that?
Date is changing by pulling and realeasing the crown (not turning) Turning the crown just set hands I've already bent, twisted, flipped, poked and doudle back flipped the watch
how about pushing hard on the crown (after pulling out)? Otherwise, it may only be via turning hands past 12-o-clock MN...
You'll have to keep rotating the hands forward to set the day. There were several day/dates from the 60's that were like this.
Thanks, that's how I did it, I was expecting a quick day setting, as for the date. I just need to remember to set the day before the date
