Only difference is Color of plates and the fact that the Lemania is a proper in-house job! You are now the owner of one of the nicest ones I have seen. Ever!
The Swedish translation (Google?) has facets not covered. "Artillery Officers watch" would be the correct designation.
Thanks guys, was very excited to get this one, Lemania has really been on my radar screen lately. One more picture just because...
Took a punt on this. Always wanted a waffle dial and figured this would be a good starter. Hoping it was only the poor quality of the pics that put people off Will find out in about two weeks
@watchcollect You from NE Ohio? Doing some junk searching (antique store) and snapped this pic. Might have to go back and grab the PAN-AM in the bottom center, I try to avoid impulse buys so I walked away.
&LawBrk My partners grandmother turned 101 and went out for the birthday. Her family is from Mentor and Geneva. Just a quick 48hr trip. Next time we go back I am definitely going to see if I can find some watches. Picked up the tool box at a garage sale for practically nothing. It's beautiful out there.
"Impluse Buys" are the best, thrill of the hunt! It was quite nice looking, anyone familiar with the type of case this PAN-AM has? Would want to check for the 420SS before purchase. Cant argue with the price unless its not the correct movement. The Mentor area is quite nice, and what a milestone celebration! When you come back through, a little further south is the charming town of Chagrin Falls, I'd recommend a day trip for the food and views and excellent Men's store Cuffs. The box is quite handsome, great find!
I forgot there is a rule against homage watches. Please delete if need be. I kinda forgot this fell into that category.
Arrived a few days ago. Needs correct crystal (secured) and need to open her up and see if hacking mechism is salvagable. A tad over polished but the radium burn makes up for it.
An awesome SM 300! But, as so often, with a flip side to it Some moran must have tried to open it with a can opener, or a pair of scissors!
Well, today I finally joined the Connie Club, mmm.... waffles! This will be off to the watchmaker at the weekend for a tune up. It has certainly had a lot of wearing over the years and the bracelet is massively random (but really comfortable). It is a bit gruby and the gasket has melted into goo and has a very scratched replacement crystal but apart from that it seems pretty sound. It seems to have belonged to a stockbroker or city type from Surrey, there is an inscription with address on the bracelet, the house is massive!. Anyway, more pics after its spa date, when I shall add it to the Connie thread.
