Good score. Watched it come and go in the blink of a eye, wasn't even time to microwave the popcorn....
I know it is a chuck of metal, but I was instantly appealed by the look and the history. Some days ago I bought this SEIKO 6138-0011 (called Yachtman or UFO). Date Nov 1971. At the time this watch was on the same level with other high end brands like Omega. A younger brother of it even tasted space. I think it will become my casual watch, while my speedy joins me for business!
Finally found myself a 1506 bracelet for my 105.012 Speedy ...................bonus is its my birth month and year Also has 9 or 10 stretch links. I already have some spare parts and 512 end links which I hope I can use with it
Bought a little CK973 from 1937 with T17 Inside : More pictures in the vintage section : https://omegaforums.net/threads/an-interesting-and-unusual-ck973-from-1937-t17-inside.26929/
Berthoud (Universal) Geneve cal 385 bought today. My first and humble step into the world of UG chronographs. 39mm stainless steel case. Late 1940s? Sellers pics:
What a shame they didn't place the aeroplane at 90 degrees so it would look like it was flying around the dial.
There almost was another watch incoming - and one that makes noises at that! However, a couple silly lowball bids at Zachy's Summer Auction (they handle wine and are under Christie's umbrella) came to fruition. Imagine my surprise when I found I won 2 cases of 2001 Arrowood for less than half the price I would pay direct from the winery. No complaints from me! 12 bottles of Reserve Speciale, and 12 bottles of Monte Rosso single vineyard Cabernet. Both these went from condition yellow to green in one fell swoop. Next target is some aged Ponsot.
You're too literal, methinks I am going to guess it will have a "panda" dial. But given those comments, it won't be one of these!
Time to fess up, bottom feeding and took a notion for a Bulova Sea King. Price of a half decent bottle of wine so worth a gamble
