Feeling upset that the garage had let me down by not delivering my car back to me, I found myself looking in a jeweler's window when one of the sales assistants came out for a chat. I pointed to something in the window and asked what their best price would be it: He said come in and have a cup of coffee - so I did.

OH, man! :whipped:
How could I mess that one up? Of course it's Norway馃憤... so very sorry,馃え Anders!

Corrected! Now I have to come visit Norway, buy you your favorite beverage(s), borrow a Lotus, and go for a drive through the fjords!!

Edit: perhaps the beverages should be saved for AFTER the drive...馃槈
Come over. The fjords are Lotus-Land 馃榾

Not looking too much like restraint anymore馃榿 I was proud of you for a moment there as restraint is an emotion that I have failed to master馃檨

Well I am on record on this forum as saying that this is the only watch in Omega's current range that does anything for me:

And to show what a difference 48 years makes:

I really couldn麓t resist the vintage charms of this one yesterday and had to have it. It麓s I think an early 1950麓s Zenith (pilots?) chronograph. The dial has aged to a nice colour and the calibre 143-6 is a beauty to behold. 馃榾

This one taken on a sunny window ledge where the dial really comes to life.

Now that's one tropical dial I like!

A little JLC 8Day travel clock making a brief touchdown before heading off for some tlc. Some interesting research ahead, as you can see case is inscribed "Christmas Amiens 1944" also on the lower part of the case another inscription that appears to read " From L. Mathot"

Just bot this, on its way. It seems to be missing the pearl on the bezel insert though. Anyone knows where to find a replacement?

This Waltham Alarm arrived today. A nice dial is behind the nasty crystal, so it should clean up nicely. Apparently made by Vulcain and houses a cal AS1475. It was represented as running but alarm non-functioning; was pleasantly surprised to find the alarm working fine. I'm sure the seller just didn't know how to set the alarm.

Another Naiad first version (CK2064) from around 1940. Nice untouched black dial. After a cleaning of the movement, replacement of the broken mainspring, the Crystal and the crown, it will be very nice...
