That's very nice indeed, you really look after that one.
Is it the micro rotor movement?

Thanks, it is in good order.
Not sure, it's got an 11alac calibre movement?

Bulova 11ALAC movement from the Ranfft resource. It is not a micro rotor.

Been keeping an eye on the bulova spaceviews after seeing some online a few weeks back.
Love the idea of having such a unique movement on show like that!
Any recommendations on resources for them or original pieces on the bay would be appreciated!

almost all Spaceviews are conversions. like 90% or more.
Back in the day when the Spaceview was a demo in jeweler's windows, it became so popular that Accutron owners brought their regular models in to be converted. All you had to do was remove the dial and drop in a spacer. Then Bulova capitalized on the trend and released factory Spaceviews like the "yellow dot B" and others. The practice of conversions was so easy and cheap its been done ever since. Clark has repro Spaceview crystals so basically almost every single "yellow dot B" and most "white dot C" are after market conversions.

Lots of minefields as you can imagine.

http://members.iinet.net.au/~fotoplot/acc.htm Aussie based in Thailand. great guy, lots of good info, does great work, cheap rates

https://www.accutron214.com/ does excellent work and has tons of info on his page. upfront about everything.

I would avoid Old Father Time. Massively overpriced and poor attitude

www.watchtalkforums.info/forums/forum40.html I am not as active here but there used be a lot of really knowledgeable guys

Has there been any interest in reviving the original tuning fork based Accutron movements?

After Omega and Bulova moved on to quartz in the 70s a few companies bought their stock. Titus bought the Omega stockpile and made watches with them. In the 90s another watch appeared called the Technos Mosaba which featured the 9162 tuning fork movement in a limited release. While the bulova and omega movements are very accurate, when properly serviced, the coils are prone to fail. In 2010 the new Bulova wanted to cash in and did the spaceview reissue with a limited release with a new/updated 214 caliber. I doubt there will ever be any more reproductions, but one can hope.

I didn't realizei had no idea that someone was making a tuning fork movement in the nineties, that it's really cool. I've heard of the Spaceview reissue but haven't seen one in person.

    I'm wearing my 67 218 today.

Have always been a big fan, picked up an '84 Super Seville Day Date recently. Trying to set my sights on a Devil diver next. Any tips on finding one, or which ones specifically to look at would be appreciated greatly!
