Love that watch. When I was a kid I so badly wanted a Bulova Accutron. My Dad bought me a Timex and shortly after, 1970s, I fell in love with vintage watches from the 30s and 40s. I was able to pick them up cheap at a jeweler who sold them to me for the weight of the gold, if the case had gold content, and if not, he simply gave me the watch. Most weren't running, so with my allowance and the money I earned from odd jobs, I had them repaired and thus began my years of watch collecting. Those vintage watches turned out to be a great investment in the 80s.

Off topic, I know, but, the Accutron just brought back those memories

Just won this 1970 Accutron Astronaut Mark II "E" from an auction. I believe it is 100% original as shown on the catalogue ad below.

I always like to see a Corrigan with the correct end-pieces (bottom row, last watch on the right). I've only had one in 20+ years.

This is the second art deco Bulova jump hour that I've owned. Sometimes called the "white knight".

Never seem to keep them though.

Yeah, I feel like they shared the case design between a few other models for sure. Really helps them wear larger!

How about this one, octagon shaped case and guilloche dial! :)

That's a really wonderful piece. I've never seen that case style before...very nice catch...what year?. I have a 1959 Bulova with a similar dial, but in gold. I have yet to definitively identify the model, but I suspect it might be a Sea King judging from the case design, "Waterproof" on the dial and its 11-AFC movement.

Based on what I found on internet the M0 code in the caseback says 1960, but I am no Bulova expert there is also a number on the outside of the caseback.

Just picked up my first Bulova ever, model 247 from the 70s, with a 214 movement. It was running about 10 minutes fast per day until I put an Accucell battery in it, and now it's about 1 second fast per day. Amazing.

I love the case with the crown hidden on the back. And I love the smooth sweeping second hand, that has the tuning fork logo as its counterweight. The textured cobalt blue dial has unfortunately taken on extra texture at some point, but I really don't notice it on the wrist. My only disappointment is the case size. While the case is just about 35mm, the blue dial only goes out to about 29mm. That combined with a height of 13mm makes it wear smaller than it should.

That dial texture looks almost deliberate. Actually sets it off nicely. It anyone asks tell them it was a custom ordered dial finish, less than a dozen made.
