Bulovas are like Seikos. You don't realize you've got more than one until someone asks... you gotta admit... the depth gauge on the diver is cool.
I'd like to have a few more Bulovas... a Space View, a "Stars and Stripes"... but these are the only ones I'd trade an appendage for: http://www.mwrforum.net/forums/showthread.php?69044-Bulova-MIL-SHIPS-W-2181-Prototype-Dive-Watch http://hoodinkee-beta.squarespace.c...ing-watch-the-last-american-military-wat.html https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/moon-watch-sells-for-$1million
Oh boy there's some Bulova love for sure... especially as I'm preparing an exhibition to commemorate 60 years X-15 rocket plane a preview in this Bulova topic https://omegaforums.net/threads/accutron-astronaut-on-jbc.55779/#post-880591
Bought my first vintage Bulova today. The whale on the dial tells me this is a Sea King, but I haven't really seen another one like it. I'd appreciate it if someone more knowledgable on these could share more on this one.
Accutron Astronaut wristwatch as issued to USAF & NASA test pilots at Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California. The scale model is a vintage Topping X-15 for North American Aviation... .
The correct Accutron Astronaut will probably get a boost (if it already hasn't) with the upcoming 60th anniversary of the X-15 program... Correct = thin hands on a black dial without the word "Bulova" . Mercury astronauts Shepard & Cooper training for MA-9
