Globemaster hands down.... Next level compared to a AT.

Globemaster doesn’t have a screwdown crown. For me that’s a big L.
The WR thing. I just think that modern watches should have screw down crowns, even if they're supposed to be dressy or classy. I would struggle to pay more than £1k for a watch without those WR assurances. Just a personal gripe.

Well looks like a Speedmaster isn’t for you

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to comment and provide insight, and pics! 😀 Given what a dismal rainy day it is here in the UK I have taken the plunge and placed and order for the blue GM, I couldn't be more excited to receive it. Special thanks to @Longbow for the extensive review, which I have probably read over 20 times now.

For those interested, it came down to a few things, I knew I wanted a blue dial and there is more colour choices in the AT range, so I can add one of those to my collection at a later date if I still desire. I also couldn't stop looking at the GM's pie pan dial, it is just mesmerizing. With this year being full of postponed formal events I will be hopefully attending a few weddings, dinners etc next year and the GM will be perfect for those.

Having learned from others on OF I went with the GM on a bracelet and will try to pick up the strap and deployant - probably through an OB or AD - seems searching online for CUZ003350 doesn't return many results so it might be OB is the only route, which is ok.

As soon as it arrives I will be spamming pictures across OF I am sure. 👍

Thanks again and stay safe everyone,
Dave

Congrats. I think the GM looks absolutely fabulous. Be it white or blue dial.

I do wonder, however, why ucz would want a screw down crown on this. What is the rationale for this? Surely any normal activity won’t hurt a gm, right? E.g. rain, washing hands, spilling some wine, ....
I mean, nobody will take a shower (or swim!) with a globemaster.

I have stubby fingers I find a screw down crown easier to manage, the push pull crown usually means my teeth have to do the job lol.

I like them both and you can't go wrong with either one, but the blue dial AT with the vertical "teak" lines is a winner in my book. The latest edition 41mm AT is also nice in either black or white dial on the rubber strap.

What do you do in the water that necessitates a screw down crown? I don't scuba dive but I've partaken in all kinds of water sports and snorkelling without ever needing a screw down crown. In fact, I don't think I've ever owned a watch with a screw down crown and I wear all my watches, even those "dodgy" 30m WR ones in and around water without hesitation.

Congrats for the gm, very good choice and i’d guess you’ll be able to wear it in any circumstances. Some owners said it was a toolwatch in disguise.
Looking forward to the pictures.

Did you find a CUZ003350? When I ordered my GM I also ordered CUZ007465 as that is all I could find on the site.

I’m partial to the GM, though I tried both on and the AT was very nice too.
Tough decision, good luck.

@Duquephart I didn't have any luck finding the CUZ003350 - I ended up getting an aftermarket Cordovan navy strap. I do still lust after the CUZ003350 but not sure I am willing to part with that much money for it!

One big advantage to the GM over the AT that you might not even have considered is that the GM has a tungsten carbide bezel which is essentially scratchproof. The GM case and bracelet also have a mostly brushed finished which tends to make scratches less noticeable. The AT, on the other hand, has a lot of polished surfaces and is a scratch magnet. Even if the two were equivalent in "scratch proneness," my vote would be for the GM. The pie pan dial, especially in blue, is absolutely stunning.

No one looks twice at anything. A very high % of people don't care about watches at all. They are normal. We are weird.

Don't know about that. How can they not notice something so outlandish as the larger POs and 2 tone rolex 👍

And how often does one see one of those?
Three weeks ago at a birthday dinner my wife pointed out my Snowflake to my kids. Son tried it on and daughter commented pointedly how nice it looks. Two days ago at another birthday dinner I was prominently wearing my GM. Crickets.

Not sure that I agree. In my experience, it seems to me that many buyers of modern Rolex watches buy them precisely because they want to be noticed and that often occurs. What is ironic in my view is that both the buyers and the admirers of these watches seem to know very little about them other than that they are expensive.
