Ran into this reference 12 Heuer in my travels along with two Rolexes the guy has and he wants to package them up. I know Rolexes so not concerned value-wise with those, but will I get stuck with this Heuer if it ends up standing me $1400? Lousy quick pics but the thing is clean aside from some dust and runs fine, nice dial and case. Movement also clean.
I'm not a fan of PVD watches and will want to dump the Heuer so I can keep the two old Rolexes, and figured I will be fine in the package deal if the Heuer is easy to blow out for at least $1400? I did do a search but not many sales on this model to get a decent feel for their value, but I want to be way under so I don't get stuck owning it. :D

Yes I did the first time I was there and the movement is clean. Unsigned which is what is supposed to be in it.

I can't recall exactly. It did have a stamp but it wasn't fancy or any decorating. Should I try to get more pics? I will probably go back there tomorrow anyways. I do want to make the deal fairly quick as I don't want to lose the Rolexes :D

There should be a case number. Just shoot a quick pic of it. I'm guessing the case back has no marking of value?

I am always hesitant when it involves Heuers. They are not my strong area as one small nuance between models makes a big difference on value and like I mentioned I don't like PVD and don't want to own this thing long.

Thanks TDBK that's good enough info for this kid. I'm gonna skip over this thing unless I can chisel the guy down to around $800 on it. I'd rather pay a bit more for the two Rolexes and leave this dog behind.

Now you have pissed off the watch, and the seconds subdial hand is flipping you off...

I have owned quite a few Heuers over the years. I love them but these generic, ie unnamed, models are just not sought after, particularly from the 70s and 80s. The 50s watches before model names came in are a different kettle of fish. Looks to me like possibly a PVD Monza case and, were Monza printed on the dial, it would be way more enticing to collectors.

I would have thought you could get $1400 for it from the right buyer. Have seen worse sell for more but it is a gamble with these.

I forget the name, but had a friend ask me about them before. He had gotten it for a couple of hundred usd so it was worth a shot.

I'd pass at even $800. No market for those.

Ah never mind that other forum. I'll help you out. I'll put the squeeze on this guy for $700 then knock off $100 for you from my original estimate of $1400. it's all good. :D

It's a correct Ref. 12 Heuer. They are from the late, not so succesfull era of Heuer. Movement is a standard Valjoux 7733. Those late ones are not very famous. 1.400$ is at the top end value wise.

    This was mine:

One more thing i liked about the other one is its from 1976. To commemorate two things that specially happened then. Ferrari’s first win at Monza the year before. And my mother giving birth towards the end of the year. The PVD is putting me off though.
