Tnx for sharing, dial looks nice, I created an account so a few nights to sleep on it before pre-ordering opens May 21st 4 pm CET for 10 minutes open.
this is popcorn lulz...
you have 10 minutes window in order to pay around $17/1800 usd for one of these. if you have to pay shipping and import fees it will be what, $2k for it?
this is a pretty bad value prop. but if people are willing to fight one another on their keyboard in order to get one, that's some pretty good marketing for a miyota 9
sadly they won't even say how many were sold as well.
I think we get it - you dislike a Miyota mvm't or similar in a watch of this price range and apparent exclusivity. Noted. 🙄
you like a miyota movement in a watch this price?
exclusivity is a driving factor that is propelling the brand. now they won't even divulge how many they're going to make. i assure you that's not for the consumers benefit.
I don't necessarily disagree with any of your points - I just think the watches (and in full disclosure I've only seen one in person) are themselves very finely designed and finished. I think of it like I think of cars - even if a well restored (or all original) '66 Mustang just has the straight six under the hood and the 3-spd manual, I can appreciate and enjoy the design of it, the lines, the colors, and so on. Some people don't like it or want it unless it's a factory GT V8, and that's totally fair as well.
Like good old Hunter S.; I don't advocate my views for anyone else; they just work for me. 😁
well, the brand is doing something right. it's a sharp looker and the craftsmanship must be good. it's amazing what buzz and exclusivity can do for a brand. making LE is always the way to go. people simply want what they can't have as much or if not more than they actually like it. throw in the fact that some are after the quick buck and you've arrived at your destination. who knows. maybe the brand will soar even higher and the next release will cost 5k with a higher grade seiko movement
Can't argue with your logic - FWIW though I'm signed up for an account; I'm thinking I'll hold off on the new anniversary piece personally - pink/salmon hues usually don't do too much for me - I'd been hoping for a sort of metallic blue or slate, but hey, gives me something to look for at the next release.

Beautiful watches. Here's a good intro:

I couldn't resist when a couple of Chrono 1's came up for sale in Melbourne (Australia).
You are going to pay the "collectors premium" of 100% on the original price.
Hopefully with only 67 Chrono 1's made it may become justifed ?
