When you said a lawyer might be able to help, I am not one of those. However I think you will find that a lawyer will tell you that you should be reading these clauses as they are written, and not extrapolating out things that aren't actually stated.

While this is a thread on OF, by definition...

Maybe we should fix the dictionary to ...

Cute, but if you read the first post the purpose of this thread is clear. The OP wants people who have actually filed a claim and been paid out to comment, and none have. The question remains unanswered.

To be clear: I have not lost anything (fingers crossed!) yet. I follow the fine prints of the Secursus deal, I double-pack, I take pictures, I can provide proof of the value, etc... I'm not asking to be schooled on the Secursus conditions, I am specifically and only asking people who have activated a claim by Secursus to share their experience.

Piling on?

Try and empathize with my perspective from this ‘discussion’, and the way your comment made me feel (no, I am no snowflake, but I like this forum, hence I am still here) after Archer having me in his cross-hairs since yesterday and dear Dan (who has zero love for Secursus) is reading inverse
English (or maybe thats me) 😀 A tough crowd I tell ya!

A question has been put to the community and thus far, there is no case offered up where the question has been answered.

The question is a fair question.

It's very similar to the kind of question put forward here when someone asks of the community: "Has anyone had experience with seller %$#@*& or has anyone bought a watch from %^&)#@?"

"What was the experience like?"

Would you promote a seller with whom you have had no experience?

I fully agree 1000% with everything you have said above, and the question is a fair question and one I too am asking. I am not using them at the moment, but have in the past, and thus have read several times over the T&Cs and have made certain I did everything required, every time for whatever reason I shipped a watch. I still have all the photos and labels/customs declarations to prove it.

And I hope nobody thinks I am promoting them (I am not!). Just trying to be neutral...

...which is what I did on Joe's post (maybe you should do that too) ... it didn't warrant 'extrapolation'...

Cute, but if you read the first post the purpose of this thread is clear.

But now, it suites you that I extrapolate 😗

But back to the 'extrapolation' narrative : the T&C's I think are clear English, prefixed by the statement that failing to comply to any point nulls the insurance. I do not believe it is extrapolation that proof of compliance to all points may be required and asked. The rest I guess y'all can figure out for yourself, in your own way, with however much pain blows your hair back. I know how I would approach the situation regarding proof, and that is all I can recommend to anyone who uses Secursus in the hope that should you have a claim, it gets handled smoothly.

Agreed, to all points plainly stated in the T&C’s, which has no requirement to communicate the declared value to the insurer if it is not on the shipping label.

I also hope that anyone who uses this service and has the need to file a claim has success, but based on how the examples so far have gone, hope is all it is.

I use Chubb through Hodinkee and they cover this. I sold a Rolex 14060 on here and before even listing it, I contacted them to see if they would cover insurance when shipping it to the buyer. Their response was:
Edit-typos
I remember hearing about Hodinkee offering watch insurance and clearly that was a brilliant move filling an unmet need for private individuals. I’d be curious to find out what their terms and exclusions would be.
