Hi everyone,

Is there any red flag on this Seamster 300?
I checked online resources and the only things that does not match for me is the fact that all the bezel indices are yellow while they should be whitish and the second hand does not match the form of the original.

Thanks

Fake as in bezel is not original or fake as in fake case bezel fake dial?
The movement is the only genuine Omega component but I guarantee it did not originate in a BT Seamaster. Everything else is fake.

How do you know the case or dial are fake?
I compared online resources and I couldn't see problems in them.

Lots of time spent studying and comparing. There are a lot of details to look at and in time, they become easier to spot.

I am asking to learn how to spot fakes for these particular models.

The issue with pointing out the specifics is the fakers use threads such as this for improving their designs. So there is a reluctance to delve into the telltale signs.

This one is particularly nasty due the artifical aging, being honest this one would probably fool me. Its why I stay away from SM 300s. Were I to get one, I'd go for a watchco, at least that is not trying to be something it's not.

If this was from a dealer I'd be interested to know the dealer as this one appears to have been dressed to deceive.

We have at present at least one thread a week like this. Type in SM300 or similar and you'll find dozens just like this. About 97% of those posted by noobs like yourself are of fake watches as you will soon discover. The appeal with these is usually the price. People think with their wallet instead of their head. If it looks too cheap, it is usually for a reason.

Have you got more pictures of this one? The mid case in particular is different to the newer generation of fakes that have been doing the rounds for the last couple of years.

Posting all the give away`s would be to easy for the fraudsters, and if you dont study enough yourself it is best to accept the verdict of those in the know here.
Many sources are available here on OF but you need to put in the hours to understand what to look for because comparing pictures on the net is not the way, as many of these pics found by Google etc are of fake ones or with fake parts themselves - mostly sold through ebay and etsy.

Start here : https://omegaforums.net/threads/seamaster-300-165-024-fake-spotting-reality-check.172056/
and this one is helpfull as well ; www.omegaseamaster300.com/

Thanks, appreciate the feedback and the explanation. I was confused as to why no one wanted to point out the reasons the watch was fake, but it kinda makes sense. Though a faker would also put the hours and search this forum thoroughly to fool everyone.

Btw, I used omega seamster 300.com before posting here. This is how I could spot some differences with bezel and second hand. But I couldn't see any issue with case or dial.

Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of a real Seamaster 300 bezel can see this one is fake — the teeth are way too long on the edge. They’ve also tried to mask the fake bezel insert by intentionally damaging it to make it look more aged.
