Need to see inside for SN and inside caseback ref no. Its probably 74, 76 or 78 without step dial. Agree its fair, and price for fair in those ref more like 2000. Not very attractive watch IMO I wouldnt rush into this one.
$2000 for that watch would be a steal. It is an unmolested 70s speedy with original bracelet in decent condition. The crystal needs to be buffed out and I am sure the dial will look way better once this is done. At $2900 I would get it. Yes the lume plots are not the best but realistically speaking for $2900 with the bracelet and an unpolished case that is a great deal in my mind.

Watchmaker laughed and said it looked untouched and very corroded. Fortunately only a cracked pusher tube had to be replaced so almost original

Just finished reading to the end of this thread and at $2000 it was a fantastic deal, congrats. Your watch repair guy seems to be way faster than mine. I dropped off a Doxa Professional Sub 300 Blacklung from 1966 in February and it is still not ready...

This will be forever known as my hurricane watch because who buys something like this in between 2 very destructive hurricanes when I had no clue what was going to be destroyed the day after I bought it. I surely have a problem that may need counseling 馃ぃ

I love this series, thanks so much for sharing the various stages of this speedy saga; I鈥檓 at the front end of my vintage speedy learning and eventually buying (I鈥檝e got a FOIS which is great, but not the same at all) and I feel like a learned a ton from this process and renewed hope of finding the right watch for me with some patience and more study, cheers!
