Any Reason To NOT Buy A Pelagos?

Have you considered the Tudor Black Bay Blue Bezel with ETA movement? With the rose and curved writing at the bottom of the dial.....you can find some nice ones in the pre-owned market, and there is also a NOS on chrono for about 3300 USD (not mine)

If you are not in a hurry the Basel and Omega events will be taking place soon and there's bound to be a killer blue dial diver for 2019
Definitely a good idea.I didn't even really thing about that!

.....pther than blue are you looking specifically at titanium? the movement? the depth rating?
Nope, just wanted something blue hah. As for the TI, I figured that may be a good thing with it being a bigger watch, but you mentioned that it felt too light. I guess I really just need to go check it out in person to decide for myself, but that is good info.
Depth rating is also not a huge issue. I can be in and around the water a lot, but I'm not a diver.

Don't fancy a 2500PO if thickness an issue?
As trodden elsewhere I looked very hard at a Pel, but went and the PO instead. I REALLY like how wears, just wasn't 100% on the dial details.
Yeah I don't know I have just not ever been a huge fan of the dial/hands on the PO/SMP models. And because of that, I don't think I have really given them a fair shot. I'm not opposed to checking them out as I realize everything can change once you put it on hah.

Yes, well, not the ETA but rather their new in-house movement.
I would want to see it in person though because I'm just not sure if it is blue enough.
The bezel seems so dark that it (at times) looks like it matches the black dial.
It is definitely in the running though.

I’ve had the blue pelagos and got rid of it. The matte dial and the white markers made it look a bit Lego like to me. The titanium is also quite grey in the finish. It’s a great watch, no doubt - just not for me.

I’d rather have the black bay if I’m honest. If I was going to have a pelagos, I’d go for the LHD as feel the slight vintage lume suits the matte dial.

or a blue puck for a different look/feel. Also very chunky but lugless design works for some people. Very robust and the first series have an ETA-2824 inside.

these are nice, in person the blue is not too dramatic...not too cheap, not too expensive. I don't think that they have a bracelet option.

Hmm thats a good suggestion.
After looking at their website I think I like this one the best....

At 44mm though, that may be a little on the large size for me. I know all watches can wear differently but I think I max out at 42mm. So maybe the one you suggested may be better.
I do like all the different strap/bracelet options on their website though!
I don't suppose they have any storefronts or AD's though?

Did you consider the BB 58? If you like a thin diver & love Tudor's design language, its the best option.

I had a blue Pelagos and a LHD. In that period I spent a lot of time by and in the pool. Mostly wearing short sleeve shirts as well. But I moved in 2016 and found out that those Pelagos watches don't really sit well when wearing long sleeves, they are too bulky. And a bit of overkill for deskdiving too. So I said farewell to them in favour of a Speedmaster ST1. But I enjoyed wearing them, especially in wet conditions.

As far as I can tell the 58 has no blue options. Which is really the main goal here. But if I'm missing something let me know!

Yeah so I wear long sleeves 4-5 days out of the week for desk duty (usually rolled up for about 3/4 of the year though, because Florida).
I am worried about it being on the large side, so I will be sure to wear one of my dress shirts if/when I go to try one one.

I would probably just go with a Black Bay Heritage in blue as long as the blue pops enough.
Pretty much all of my watches are shades of black and SS, so I really want to add some color, as well as a dive-style watch.

The thickness is probably my main consideration. It’s a lot of watch for the money though.

My short answer would be: the Pelagos and not a Planet Ocean. Then I get to thinking: if you not going to dive and can tolerate less WR, then maybe the Omega Aqua Terra 15 ATM of WR. Shown is my 41.5MM. If I had it to do again I darn well might get the smaller one. 38mm or something like that. Anyhow...
have fun.

And that, my friend, is the killer blue dial AT. It's on my wish list.
