Any reason to suspect this C24 listing? Genuine watch?

Hi all,

On the brink of purchasing my next watch - a Nomos Club Sport - from a private seller on C24.

The price is pretty good, better than I've seen on eBay. The guy has responded appropriately to questions but the photos are fairly average. There is a photo of the guarantee card however.

I wondered if any of you experienced folk might be able to have a look and give an opinion on if there's anything dodgy going on here that I'm missing?

Thanks very much!

I have no comment at all on the watch in question. However, I find it to be outrageous that C24 allows sellers to remain "private", and refuse to support the platform for that reason alone.

How do you mean? How would they not be private? I assumed it just meant an individual rather than a shop.

Your assumption is correct, unhelpful rant notwithstanding. 👍

Watch looks fine to me, but not familiar with pre-owned market pricing for Nomos references. Chrono24 does have some safeguards to ensure seller has possession at time of listing, but always good to do your own confirmation. I've done several buy transactions on C24 with no issues. Good luck with your hunt.

Thanks. I just thought the pictures were a bit crap and the price is relatively on the low side for that watch (compared to other sellers/eBay prices)
I know it's not a vast amount for a watch but it is still nerve wracking compared to say purchasing from the sales forum on here.

It does mean an individual, but those individuals are not identified, and there is no feedback allowing buyers to judge their quality.

I know of at least two seller who have poor reputations amongst collectors, yet they are superficially identical on C24 to all other "private" sellers. It's a bad policy, in my view.

Fair enough, that seems reasonable. I suppose eBay at least has feedback to go on most of the time.

It says this guy has been a member since 2016 - maybe that is marginally reassuring.

I would still love some more opinions on the watch itself, if anyone has any...

Hey … If you want opinions its best to post pictures not links. Your link does not take me to the watch.

Ah! Thanks for the feedback. I didn’t realise the link wasn’t working.

Looks like a Nomos to me. I might suggest doing some comparison research, making sure you see a bunch of examples. Of particular concern would be the movement. I would take advantage of whatever protections C24 offers.
