For someone looking to purchase a new X33 Skywalker, what are the things to check for?

Seconds hand not lining up on markers?
Minute hand not lining up on markers?
Misaligned bezel?

Anything else?

Worth asking how long they've had it; the battery life is 2 years and it may have been sitting a long time (and not always in power saving mode, when the crown is pulled out and the hands move to 12 o'clock). Ask for and in fact demand a discount; if you find one I promise you that they're keen to sell it. There'll be one waiting for me to look at in Scotland when I go back in December, which will have come straight from Omega. If it's not perfect, and even possibly if it is, I'll get something else (likely the new 300 Diver in silver/blue).

The second hand should always line up with a marker. Minute hands do not have to line up on any markers, as it can be set that way by anyone. However, the minute hand should be at 12 o'clock when the hour hand is exactly on a marker. Bezels can also be set out of alignment by the user, through no fault of the watch,

I was searching for some info about the Skywalker X-33 and came across this thread. I am reviving this thread to inform people of how these misaligned hands are NOT an issue.

If any of the hands on your X-33 are not lining up; especially after changing the battery the hands can be manually realigned using a simple operation. Pull out the crown and put the X-33 into power saving mode; this will black out the LCD and the hands should all return and point to 12 o'clock. If any of the hands are off use the corresponding button to move the hand to 12.

02:00 pusher controls second hand
08:00 pusher controls hour hand (this one can be held to speed up the process)
10:00 pusher controls minute hand
04:00 does nothing in this mode

After that the watch is perfect. X-33 is one of the best watches out there. To think otherwise means you just haven't figured it out yet 馃榾

Do you know if this procedure is the same for the X-33 first Gen?

The gen 1/2 modules don鈥檛 have power saving mode - think that鈥檚 unique to the Skywalker. 馃憤

The only part in the gen 1/2 manual that talks about hands is this:

Yes, thanks mate, I just dug out the manual and checked my photocopy of the manual. I also found a note that I had made (some years back) on the page: "set minute hand while seconds and minutes between 1 - 29 secs" and related to the highlighted Attention!! note.
