The US has a similar problem. About 59 million of our 320+ million inhabitants think that money and care should be free from the government, and they don't do a single day's work to earn it. It comes out of the hard working citizen's pocket.... like mine.
Lump em' up with the other 11 mil, ship em' out...build a wall..

... If you get something for your tax you do not mind paying it.

Unfortunately what too many citizens of [insert your country name here] most often get is....

screwed.馃槣

Good for us in France to keep in mind as we risk getting our own Trumpette in a few months....
Does anyone also vouch for the Swedish "non opposite sex" for those 6 wintery months?

Marine has clearly been heartened by the Trump win. ::stirthepot::

Maybe Pres elect Trump should rethink which border to build the wall on.

I cannot believe this is what is happening in the states right now.

What made you think 馃が like that ever stopped happening?

Let'a face it, there is an element of society that believes that Trump's victory makes this acceptable again. The question I have is what is the President-elect going to do aboutit over the next 4 years?

Will he be a leader and follow his vision? Then he will need to learn how to compromise, or he may be rejected by his party in 2020 and not even be nominated for re-election.

Or will he just be like most politicians and follow the party line? This is exactly what he said he wasn't going to do. Enough people bought that line to get Trump elected.

The early returns aren't promising, folks.

My Omega Speech.
I have a feeling things are about to get crazy in America and the world now. I've already come to terms with Donald Trump. I've never disliked him as a reality-celebrity who made me laugh years ago but I never liked him, nor voted for him, to be Pres.

What I will NOT come to terms with is a certain group of his voters who voted for Trump because they hate the world today, they hate the progress we've made, they hate the peace we are trying to achieve (by funneling my hard earned tax dollars to an already unmatched and bloated military), they hate helping fellow citizens with social programs (by removing my hard earned tax dollars which can fellow poor Americans).

America has a dark past filled with hate, genocide, slavery, theft, guns, war. All of which made this country powerful and rich. Empires usually become empires by evils done to other countries and peoples but NO Empire in history has lasted beyond a time when it did evil to it's own citizens to benefit a few wealthy citizens. In the world today we are all citizens of a global empire with the same needs and desire for our families and friends. Regardless of if you are a Syrian getting bombed this minute or you are a wealthy banker getting into your private limo to work.

So you CAN support Trump for whatever reason you choose AND you can choose to NOT support him BUT we need to grow up as citizens, put down our electronic devices and climb out our social media bubbles and see the world and this country for what it REALLY is!

This is not fun and games anymore, there will be blood, there will be tears, but it is how and what we learn from the past that determines our success down the line!

I believe you all have forgot a very good alternative to Canada and Australia.

Welcome to Sweden.

We all speak English here, there are six months of nice weather every year and the rest of the year we have the famous Swedish opposite sex.
No dangerous animals, no dangerous nature - no volcanos, land slides, tzunamis, earth quakes, etc. We have, by law, at least four weeks of vacation every year (I have six). You get to be with your children when they are born - for a over a year - with pay. Health insurance is not needed - hospitals treat you anyway. People are not armed to their teeth - no need to. We have a voting system that at least helps democracy. We are rated among top three in the world - in democracy ranking. Etc, etc.

Draw backs - I pay around 40% tax. And drinking is rather expensive. Oh - some of you might consider this a draw back (not me) - almost no fire arms.

Hi Stygg,

I worked for 8 years for L. M. Ericsson in multiple countries, I am a cloud computing architect.
I visited Gotheborg for 1 week about 4 years ago.
I only have 1 wife and 1 daughter (& 2 cats)

My wife is a Lean/Six Sigma professional currently working in health and wellness industry.

Don't mind the 40% tax with all the benefits you have.

Most importantly, my watch collections:

Would you help me and my family get into Sweden 馃榿

PS: watches collection will also come along 馃槈

As they say, sometimes you have to take a few steps back in order to move forward but I never thought the US needed to go back to the 50s. To each their own I guess.
Media is blamed (by Trump) for the last day's protests. He keeps bashing the media, the same media that helped him get elected...

Likewise, I'd rather take my chance with higher taxes. Doesn't diminish my freedom or safety. I might have to save longer to buy watches but hey...what can you do!

We all must face the fact that the the elephant in the room is the blatant condescending attitude of the intellectual left towards the average working class American. Unfortunately, the chickens have come home to roost. Sec Clinton said it best, her "basket of deplorables" remark might have done her in....that plus the fact that she's a woman.
I applaud her courage to admit this. Something that Trump in incapable of as it would show too much "weakness"

I read that your moms tax is 25%. Combined tax rate of 65%馃檨.
I think I'll take my chances with our new President.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to traveling to our new American 51st and 52nd states.
The Baja Peninsula of California and Newfoundland.

Yup, even most of the good folks I know who are left of center recoil when they find out how much in all kinds of taxes folks have to pay in all the utopian "free-everything" societies...

So, what comes after an ineffective Democrat administration that grew the government substantially?

A Reagan at federal, or a Giuliani at local level, to clean up the mess and fix it for us all..So good folks can call them fascist etc..

Interesting.
Regardless of one's political stance and even if Tump's ideas appeal to a certain electorate, I struggle with the fact that a sufferer of verbal diarrhea, pathological lying, fact deniying and demagoguery will carry the ideas that many honestly believe in. Reagan was no deuce of spades, agree or disagree. He ran his country with a high level of dignity. How can one believe the president elect's message after all that has come out of his mouth in the last 24 months?

eh, I couldn't believe a single thing HRC said either. At least (to me) Trump is so over-the-top with it you can tell it is just hot air, vs the feeling there is a lot of scheming/ hiding going on. I'm not sure there is much worse then a 'career politician'.

I guess facts are also hard to believe? Not that HRC told the truth and nothing but the truth but there are limits to twisting and denying reality. So America needed major surgery and instead of choosing a qualified surgeon with a shady career they chose a snake venom salesman to perform open heart surgery..not sure how this can be logical..

Unfortunately the opportunity to bring a 'qualified surgeon' to the table never had a chance, as neither of the major political parties had anyone who may have fit that bill agree to be considered for running for the office. With either candidate the next few years were going to be rocky. The position of president has long passed the point where someone with integrity and an actual desire to help people would be up for consideration.

I had to break this race down to some issues that did not receive much coverage in the press. But even so I doubt either candidate will affect where I -- and my small business -- will be at in 4 years. I guess in 50 years I have learned it's all in the machines behind the presidential 'face' that really dictate direction.
