Wei Koh currently has three UM. Maybe he is trying to buy them all at any cost.

I had three as well. All three did probably cost me less than what he now pays for one 😁

Bought by Omega Museum?

A real post? Not on their feed

As a member of the anti-UM club, I will now eat my humble pie. Can't argue with the Motherland.

Looking forward to seeing it in person at the museum someday.

Well, no problem with them 'reissuing' an Extract to verify the watch.

I thought a museum would be looking for a tip-top quality example. Maybe there’s a few spare parts to add on 😉

Is there something going on we missed?!

Like with the Speedmaster „prototype“ sold by Dr. Crott which we all shredded just to see the movement later prominently displayed on the omega Homepage.

Please help me - I am absolutely baffled.

serial number is far away from accepted UM’s.

what is it about this watch I am missing?

there MUST be something special about it if the museum bought it? Famous owner?

If the factory really have bought this then yet again it casts the extract process in a questionable light. If it is some kind of out of range UM Prototype, or perhaps a show prop then to buy it having described it yourself as nothing if the kind seems pretty underhand.

I’ll believe that the museum bought it when I see it confirmed by Omega. I hope the explanation is good if so!

I think the Motherland has some explaining to do really.
If 2607xxxx is now thrown out of the window, whatever I have believed in the past is also thrown out of the window too.
It now looks like any 145.012 with a long orange hand can be called UM even though people have paid many 1000s on the assumption 2607xxxx was correct.

Don't delude yourself good Sir...they don't need to (nor will they) explain themselves to us, the peanut gallery, if they indeed purchased it (but I agree it would be nice)...

Another theory : Maybe they are trying to raise the value of their heritage back to the heights of a few years ago?

But if the museum publicise it they can’t just say “it’s an Ultraman” there will need to be more. The too early serial and the fact it is already on a plain extract need explanation.

The museum will just have the watch displayed, with a plaque, that will say 'ultraman' and have some spiel in the background about the series. They will not publicise anything more about the watch. I can look in my photo archive (aka my phone) for pictures...but I think there are threads here that show the musuem displays that can be found quicker. No SN's etc etc.
