I don't know why but whenever I see printed outlines around the perimeter of the subdials/registers on any UG chronograph my first thought is always "redial"

The outline is IMHO correct for a dial of this period & design.

I know Sala book is a great reference, but members say that some pictures in Sala are re-dial .? So how do you know Sala picture is legit ? I think this one is original though, UG is a bit on the inconsistent side, but obviously this post shows several other similar examples in circulation.

Some of the watches pictured are/may be. However: I don't think there is a lot of discussion about the catalogue pics.

I think we all assume that the black and white archive catalogues featured in the book at the end of every chapter come from the factory and as such show only original watches. These archive pics are - at least for me - an unquestionable reference.

On the other hand the watches photographed in color are from private collections and in many cases have flaws - declared or not - some are redials (usually it’s stated in the description), many have incorrect hands, crowns etc.
