So...I have a ridiculously humongous collection of two Speedmasters...so I purchased this Speedmaster lapel pin today... ...which will be a nice addition to my ridiculously humongous collection of two lapel pins...
I was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to enter Naval Aviation in the mid 1980s when the big pilot push was going on with the Navy and the Marine Corps...they were literally taking anybody with a college degree and a 2.0 college GPA...and I was right down there with the minimum quals...which probably explains why I was no ace-of-the-base during Navy primary pilot training in the T-34C. Heck, I was just glad to be there...so getting helos [the SH-60B Seahawk in the fleet] was fine by me.
It certainly does count! Look at the detail in the astronaut's faceplate. The artist got the reflection beautifully!
nice......i can appreciate the full size deck off of your upstairs master bedroom. i have less than half that and it's practically worthless. getting new windows and the deck floorboards are rotting on so i will prolly rip it down and close it up because of it.
I just ordered my very first guitar! It's a Yamaha Pacifica 012 in white, like this one: can't wait till I get it!
Waiting for me last night direct from England. Between this and the new Barbour, I can't wait for some good old Chicago winter weather.
Just old records bought this morning at the local car boot / junk market , & pretty pleased as they are all 1st pressings in mint condition .Sold by the original buyer an older lady ,who used to follow the Beatles around in their early days .
Sennheiser headphones and bluetooth earbuds - I was getting the last set of HD800s at Rocky Mountain Audiofest, but agreed to let the next buyer in line take them home if they would ship mine to me by Friday. To be able to buy them I sold my original HD800 from the initial release in May 2009 for $600 to my son (cost me $1500 back then). I actually owed him $600 for a 55" 4K HDTV, so it was really a trade to wipe out my debt, since no money changed hands. The open set of Momentum True Wireless earbuds at the bottom of the picture are my actual pair.
Bought my wife this 6 foot Blue Spruce today for her birthday coming up in a couple of weeks (get's planted the week after her Bday, they're busy this time of year).
Our local airport had a wings and wheels weekend. Flying things and old cars. It was advertised that this gentleman was going to be there and I found him by the size of the line at his tent. I got to shake his hand twice, thank him for everything and tell him a story that he laughed at. If I can look as good as he does at his age I won't mind living that long. Col. Brown is one of only two left. My favorite car was a 1969 Blue Ford Galaxy convertible with white leather interior. We can only dream about driving something like that now.
Although I had this UV water filtration system installed two weeks ago, the invoice just arrived and I paid for it today. I just got tired of dragging jugs of water into a boat to get it to my island. I’ve tried all sorts of portable filtration systems, but none of them seem to work adequately. I finally bit the bullet and spent $2000 in order to simplify my life. No more beaver fever for me because of lake water!
I live in Toronto, Canada, but the filtration system was installed at a place I have north east of Toronto, in an area called the Kawarthas. More specifically, I’m on Jack’s Lake if any of you are familiar with southern Ontario.
