. I picked it up today. It is dated 1891, and has L 5 on the back side. I am going to guess this means 5 Lire. I’ll also guess that all Italian’s walked around with Jeweller’s loupes so they could determine what denomination of coin they got as change from Starbucks.
Online I see similar designs on the silver coins from the era, but no gold like this one (
many 20 lira though). I don’t know coins, it was a lucky auction win. Could you suggest a good website I could use to determine value? My goal is to sell it to help finance a watch. Thanks in advance for whatever you can provide.
