I suspect it belongs to NASA
Oh, and now for a gratuitous radial subdial shot.....
Daft question, but I know they made radial dial 1040 prototypes as well as radial dial 1255 Speedsonic prototypes (including some examples which were sent to NASA as Alaska watches), did they make a production version of the radial dial Speedmaster? Spacefruit yours seems to be a T swiss T dial seperately which leads me to assume that the Speedmaster range also had a production/ commercial available radial dial option?
Cheers Tom
Ooohhhh that useful to know, I like the radial dial designs, I feel a little project coming on 😉
By the way, do we know something about the final whereabouts of this watch? Has it been confiscated and is now with NASA? Or is it still privatly - well not owend but hold?
It was reclaimed by the Federal Government.
Kate Lacey, and Paul Maudsley, who are part of the watch team at Phillips were joking about it... as they were part of the watch team at Bonhams, when representatives of the US government arrived to take the watch away. 🍿
