Alternate bracelets for the 3861

I actually quite like the 3861 bracelet look. The original 3570 bracelet is fine, but I never bonded with it. The clasp is too wide in my opinion, and I can't get a good fit. Love the 3861 look, but I love the old school claps so I got the Uncle Seiko version instead. I gotta say, it has transformed the way I enjoy this watch. On the most comfortable combos out there

Are the edges of the US version “sharp” or “crisp” like the 3861 OEM bracelet? I wonder how the weight compares between the two. If less “sharp” and lighter than the OEM one, I’d consider this for a daily beat around bracelet to go with my Forstner Contemporary Flat Link.

The edges are not as sharp as on the OEM bracelet and it's actually super light. A lot of that comes from that basic buckle. It's only a stamped metal but comfortable to that point that you can't even feel it on the wrist

Well that didn’t last long.

The larger Omega links definitely tightened the bracelet up and made it more rigid. Obviously also increased the lug to lug dimensions.

I put the Forstner end links back on and it’s as comfortable as the stock bracket that came with it, but I think it’s better aesthetically.

So to anyone considering this bracelet, the Omega end links that come with it will fit securely but aren’t ideal. I’d recommend the Forstner end links, or possibly something else like Uncle Seiko, but I have not tried those.
I just had a thought (because spending money to solve problems is fun)! But seriously - I wonder if the 20mm endlink for the Aqua Terra would fit the '57 bracelet middle section? They are somewhat the same three link style but the chances of it actually being the same width are slim. It would definitely tighten up the fit of the bracelet but not protrude like the '57s. Did you end up keeping one on? Thanks again for the work!

Just got a bracelet for my 3861, I think it looks great but then I am very biased as I do love a nice mesh.

Let me look for the receipt for the part number. I believe the bracelet was $730.

Yes, it would be very interesting to know the part number of the bracelet and the price! Thank you!

Apologies, but I am unable to find the receipt. The Omega boutique should be able to get you the part number. It’s the bracelet from the ‘57 Speedmaster.

I was able to find the receipt. The bracelet is Omega part # 0020STZ015403 and I paid $710 + tax.

Love that bracelet. Have it on my (genuine) WatchCo Seamaster 300. Looks fabulous!

Looking to do the same and just ordered the bracelet from local omega dealer today. Are the ‘57 endlinks a good fit?

Thanks for sharing this. Do you by any chance know if Forstner flat endlinks would work with the speedy 57 bracelet? I’m looking to mount to my SMP 300

Do you guys think the Apollo 11th 50th endlinks fitted on the Speedmaster 57 bracelet would provide an even overall better fit and look? The Forstner endlinks don’t seem as “flat”

yes, this would be the best possible combo for the 3861 in my opinion.

That seems like the best combination yet. Has anyone confirmed that the middle sections are the same width?

(Building off this thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/first-omega-moonwatch-3861.145919/)

I wanted to not derail that other thread and create one for discussion of alternate bracelets for the current version Moonwatch.

I purchased my Hesalite moonwatch late last year. I liked the bracelet well enough until I purchased my Rising Sun. I think the fact that my clasp was slightly offset and the 3861 didn't well as comfortably as I liked is the first thing that got me to try the bracelet from the Tokyo Olympics version (STZ006272). It's stayed on the Moonwatch since then. I think I prefer the bulk/lack of taper/larger links, but the push button adjustment on the clasp is a definite plus.

Does anyone have experience adding the rising sun bracelet to their 3861? Do you need special spring bars? Is it a perfect fit with the end links? I’m very interested in doing this because the new 3861 bracelet pulls my arm hairs

That’s the same bracelet that is shown in the very first post.

The Omega Boutique first tried the Apollo 11th 50th but it wouldn’t work due to the end links. The Speedmaster 57 fit but the Forster end links provided a better fit and look.

#pbrob, just to clarify, did the omega boutique fit the Apollo 50th bracelet to the 3861 or to the Rising Sun? From all the pictures I’ve seen with the Apollo 50th bracelet, the endlinks fit perfectly on the 3861and are flush with the lugs. The reason I’m don’t want the full Apollo 50th bracelet is because the logo on the clasp doesn’t match the logo on the dial and I think that would bother me. That and the fact that the finish of an OEM bracelet would be much nicer than an aftermarket.

yes, clarification wold be great. from what ive seen the rising sun seems like the best option. All OEM omega parts and no need for new end links. I went ahead and ordered one from my boutique. But if im wrong ill gladly move it to the 57 or apollo 50th
