Definitely has an old school feel.

Pretty much the same size as the stock bracelet but with the larger links it has a more robust feel. I much prefer the look and the way it wears.

Trying out the Forstner end links. They’re a little shorter and fit better with the lugs on the Speedy.

The pictures below show the Forstner end link at 6 o’clock and the standard from the Speedmaster ‘57 at 12 o’clock.

There’s a bit more of a gap in the links but it definitely hangs better.

Looks great!

I assume you used the end links from Forstner's contemporary version of the flat link?

Thanks again for updating this thread regarding the '57s bracelet on 3861 case...the question is, which do you prefer, the OEM endlinks or the Forstner? Just knowing that new flat link works is appealing now...! I actually don't mind how the OEM ones stick out a little as long as they're secure, reminds me of a vintage piece and how those endlinks were 'generous' in their fitment. (I also have a soft spot for the Sea Dweller 116600 and how those endlinks protrude from the case).

Once I tried the Forstner on one of the lugs and compared it to the Omega on the other, I immediately switched over to Forstner on both. I’ve been wearing it that way ever since.

So while I’m leaning towards answering “Forstner”, I haven’t given the Omega end links a proper opportunity. Aesthetically, they’re less than ideal. I’ll get used to the fit of the Forstners for a few more days and will swap them out for the Omegas and will report back.

Loving the bracelet!

And both sides with the Omega end links that came with the bracelet.

I’ll wear it this way for a few days and will report back with a very subjective fit/feel feedback, but based on lug fit and aesthetics alone I am guessing I’ll prefer the Forstner.

Well that didn’t last long.

The larger Omega links definitely tightened the bracelet up and made it more rigid. Obviously also increased the lug to lug dimensions.

I put the Forstner end links back on and it’s as comfortable as the stock bracket that came with it, but I think it’s better aesthetically.

So to anyone considering this bracelet, the Omega end links that come with it will fit securely but aren’t ideal. I’d recommend the Forstner end links, or possibly something else like Uncle Seiko, but I have not tried those.

Thanks for all this research. I have the 3861 all brushed, the Forstner flat link and the oem fabric and deployant.
The Speedy is one watch that leads to a lot of bracelet swapping!
There is a very different feel from each.

I think I've found the best bracelet for me, but I haven't yet tried any straps. That's the next step! It truly is an extremely versatile watch.

More pictures

Looks very nice !
But the endlink seem to be sticking out a bit from the case ? Is that correct ?
Do you have more photos showing the integration of the link with the case, and by how much it sticks out ?
Maybe replacing just the end link by the one from the forstner would fix this ?

Most of page 2 here deals with that issue. Yes, the Forstner end links work well.

So the Speedmaster ‘57 bracelet fits perfectly. No third party endlinks required.
Hi Bro. Nice upgrade! Can you advise the part no. and how much does it cost? Thank you in advance!

Wait, so the 3861/1861 current gen bracelets fit on the last gen speedy? Thanks for sending me down a rabbit hole of bracelets. Which makes it seem the '57 bracelet would also fit earlier the last gen.

What I'm really after is push button micro-adjust.

Let me look for the receipt for the part number. I believe the bracelet was $730.

I actually quite like the 3861 bracelet look. The original 3570 bracelet is fine, but I never bonded with it. The clasp is too wide in my opinion, and I can't get a good fit. Love the 3861 look, but I love the old school claps so I got the Uncle Seiko version instead. I gotta say, it has transformed the way I enjoy this watch. On the most comfortable combos out there
