I bid on, and won, a Molequin strap on ebay with a genuine Omega buckle.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Molequin...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Note the underneath is clearly marked 94511602 11:

The same seller also had a genuine Omega strap and the same (?!) buckle:

I bid on both but only won the first, which is fine. I have enough black straps and besides I suspect the Molequin is actually better anyway.

But what arrived this morning? Well, the strap was right (very nice, in fact) but the underside of the buckle just said "Stainless Steel" -- and centred, so not even in the same position as the genuine article.

This is what I got:

Now that's not right is it?

I'm pretty annoyed.

Definitely annoying. I would definitely complain that the seller mis-represented the product and try to send it back for a full refund. I wonder if the buckle was actually the same in both auctions!

We’re you mainly buying the strap and the buckle was a bonus, or buying the buckle and the strap was a bonus, or buying both ? If your main target was the strap I’d first try and seek some kind of partial refund from the seller. A lot of buyers try this on for spurious reasons but in this case it seems entirely justified. If you can’t reach an agreement you could always return it at his expense.

I contacted the seller:

"Hello [name]

The Molequin strap arrived today but you seem to have swapped the genuine Omega buckle that was in the pictures on ebay with a fake one. The pictures clearly show it to be a 94511602 11 but the one you sent just says "Stainless Steel". Can you send me what I bought and paid for please?

Regards

[name]"

He replied:

"Hi [name],

Really sorry, I was putting the buckle on several straps without buckle that I listed while I was waiting for new buckles to arrive. Let me just refund you and you keep the strap?

[name]"

Me:

"Thanks, that would be great. When the money arrives I'll leave you positive feedback"

Him:

"Thanks and sorry again. Will follow up on the fake buckle with the other seller so thanks for heads up"

It's not over till the money drops but it just shows that it pays to use your eyes before and after.

Edit: And the money arrived!

It was both tbh. But it's ended rather well for me so it's moot now.
