I did not encounter any problems thanks to the great tools Spiralwinder provided (for free). On there website it says if you need one of those just contact them. What I did was to add this request in the note section when placing the order, and they will include it with the case back. It’s 3D printed, solid but made of plastic. If you use it right it should not slip, but even if it does, it won’t scratch the case.
Thanks, I also requested one, they look appropriate for the job.

Really pleased. It was easier than expected, the tool works perfectly.
The reduction in thickness is also very noticeable.

Has anyone had a pressure test done & passed after installing the Spiralwinder V2? I see notes about the Priek version passing pressure tests but didn’t see anyone comment on the Spiralwinder version.

Finally got around to installing my Spiralwinder v2 on my 3570.50 this week. 😎
Aside from the obvious benefit of being able to view the movement, the reduction in overall case thickness was preferred.

Thanks. I thought the difference would be higher. But still 1mm can be very noticeable indeed.

Good news to share as Spiralwinder emailed me back and confirmed that these casebacks do indeed have a safety margin so that even when tightened to the maximum, there is no risk of the movement contacting the sapphire.

I measured the total height of the FOIS with the replacement case back at 13.00mm. The official height is 14.5mm. This case back reduced it by 1.5mm or ~10%. That is indeed a significant change.

I think I’ll order another one for the 1957 60th speedy, that whole polished case back is so easy to get scratched.
I was wondering the same thing when I was fitting the new case back. It seems that what you feel in contact is the hermetic seal ring of the case back that sits on the outside part of the movement and helps keep it in place.
I think 1,5mm may be a little over measured, as shown on previous post, but the difference is very noticeable.

Thanks for providing the measurement! This essentially confirms the thickness is consistent with the 3861 (hesalite) when equipped with this caseback.

Well, to clarify, I did not "feel" the case back contacting anything solid when screwing it down, but merely judging from the look as the movement appears to be really close to the sapphire. When tightening the case back it feels just normal.

As to the thickness measurement of 13.0mm, here's the picture. I did not measure the original thickness and did not bother putting the original case back on to compare. The 14.5mm was based on searches online and may not be accurate. Some website listed it as 14.0mm. It'll be great if someone can measure it to confirm. Please note that the FOIS original case back is a bit thicker than a standard moon watch to accommodate the deep engraving.

Thanks for your reply.
Anyway, the truth is that it feels like a different watch.

I've just realized that the other measurement shown was of a Professional.
So 1,5mm in FOIS case makes it even better compared.

Yup, it makes sense. The FOIS and 3570.50 has a similar total thickness of ~14.5mm to begin with, but distributed differently:
1. FOIS' Sapphire crystal is about -0.5mm thinner than the standard Hesalite, and
2. FOIS' caseback is about +0.5mm thicker.

As such, the caseback swap only resulted about -1mm reduction on the 3570.50, but about -1.5mm on the FOIS.

Mine has been sent! (Spiral)
Looking forward to taking a pic and sharing here...
Thanks again for this address, they seem very very well manufactured👍👍

Quite disappointed for now... I'm still waiting for the parcel. The tracking indicated by Spiralwinder is an "empty" label. No parcel has been received by the transporter.
No answer to my mails, no answer to the online form... I'm beginning to having doubts about www.spiralwinderwatchparts.com/...

Happened the same with my shipment. But they quickly answered that they needed some extra time with the 3D tool.

Did it arrive, or did you at least receive communication? Just double checking before placing an order. Thanks!

But the tracking is still very limited for international shipping, because limited to the shop country.... So still waiting...
