Hello everyone, I'm new here and was hoping for your expert views on below.

It's advertised as 18ct rose gold, from 1951 with 332 movement (number is in the 12.2mio) and it's last serviced in 2019. It says width is 36mm. Unfortunately no photos of inside or case..

Estimated value between 500-800. Does that sound reasonable?

Thank you! Much appreciated

Well, it’s pretty, and if you care about a dial refinish, you may not want it, but not enough information. We need the case number and much more detailed pictures to give you a good answer.

Ok, truth is: not sure what I want! I'm new to all of it.

Case number is 10922818 and unit is GBP. There's couple more pictures in the link, but not a lot.

I've done some more reading here and perhaps I simply am part of the "non-collector market that wants a "nice looking" vintage watch". My hunch is that for my own sake that may even be best otherwise I'll quickly become snooty about it too 😀. I guess I just don't want to overpay for what I'm looking for.

Thanks again!

Ah, that is the case serial number, not unusual for a solid gold case. We would need the reference number, usually four digits in this time period.

Auction, too, so let it go.

Many thanks

What is problematic about an auction, actually? Just the winner's curse thingy?

Nah, some jackhole will bid it up past a thousand. Not worth getting invested into.

With the estimate of 5-8. I'm guessing an actual auction and not an Ebay one. Will need to factor in the buyers fee on top of the auction fee which could be 20-25% of the sale price.

Your looking at a possible $1000 price before you can wear it if it sells for $800

They say it was serviced, but who knows what type of service it had, so be prepared for that fee also on top

No movement images. Wouldn't touch it

Keep looking

I let it go, but just for closure: it went for GBP 1100,-

Thanks both

That's a fair price for a running jumbo rose bumper in original condition.
