High all. Received my new purchase today, C shape connie with a 561 movement. Should this movement have a 'hack' facility, also should there be a quick method of changing the date rather than continually turning around the the hands for several 24 hour periods? Thanks for your thoughts. John.
Here is a page from an old Omega instruction book from that era: http://www.old-omegas.com/youandyouromega66.html No hacking on caliber 56X movements. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
View attachment 1223781 Thanks for the info, bit of a relief to know it's all ok. I thought about the reverse to 9pm method but was warned off this method by a watchmaker some time ago [although it was on another make of watch]. I owe you a beer!
This is the conventional way to set the date on watches with "semi-quickset" movements. I would believe the manufacturer's recommendation.
I have at least 7 or 8 calendar watches from a variety of manufacturers that use the 9pm-1am semi-quickset date method - AS, Omega, Felsa, Zenith, Bulova.
