A few options

I still can’t pick.

Probably the 57, as it’s fairly unique.

But as you can see the FOIS is a true great alrounder and it sits very well on my 7”+ wrist

FOIS is a great watch. Works well on leather or bracelet.

What bracelet are you using for your FOIS?

If you're looking at a FOIS used for $3.1k, might as well spend a couple hundred more for a brand-new one with a warranty:

As far as buying a Speedy Pro instead, I think it depends on your priorities. For me the FOIS was the only choice for two reasons:
1. Slightly slimmer profile fit my wrists better.
2. Applied logo, metal hands looks more luxe than the regular Speedy Pro

I guess it depends on what you want. For sporty, I think the Speedy Pro Ultraman looks amazing. If they come down in price used I'd want to buy one someday...

Gret advice! Chitown is good and his watches comes with full Omega warranty 👍

I tried on the FOIS and the 57 60th. Boy, did I love the FOIS!

I know the 57s come with a very cool history but I’d choose what fits like a glove on my wrist rather than what history the watch brings.

What I’m trying to say it it’s your choice ultimately.

Is the warranty card stamped the same month the watch is purchased from them or just whenever it was sourced from an AD? Any other reputable online sellers in the US around the low to mid 3 range new?

I'm looking into the FOIS as a project watch and switching out parts to have a 105.003 look and a lower price is better since new dial, case back, hands, strap, etc are not cheap.

Very nice on a nato as well

Oh man, that's beautiful on the black/grey NATO. May I ask where you got that from?

So I actually bought my FOIS from them, and they stamped it to the month/year that I purchased the watch, not when they got it from an AD. That's part of why I decided to go with them (though there may be others). I knew Jomashop didn't offer the Omega warranty, which is why I didn't go with them.

Yes, love the NATO. Black and charcoal is quite nice . For when you want something more subtle than the Bond NATO but more interesting than plain black. Who makes this?

It's an interesting discussion in this thread thus far. Having* recently gone through this decision, there really is a lot more to consider than meets the eye. Some things I considered that may sway you one way or the other:

FIT: try them on! Consider the thickness, and how the side profile and taper hug your wrist. Both FOIS and Speedy Pro have a similar thickness, but to me, the twisted lugs help it sit with a better profile on the wrist. 90% of internet watch photos are straight on with the dial.

"FIT": where does the watch fit in your collection? The straight lugs, applied dial details, polished hands, lack of crown guards, etc lend it a more formal look (but by no means is it a dress watch), while the Speedy Pro is arguably more versatile and flies under the radar. I chose the Speedy Pro (for now) because I was looking for a go everywhere type of watch that with an appropriate strap, I would not necessarily draw any unwanted attention. I'm not sure the fully polished lugs and hands of the FOIS make that much of a difference, but either way.

Other: 19mm lugs on the FOIS vs a more standard 20mm lug on the Speedy Pro...Hesalite option on the Speedy Pro ...

Don’t worry about the lug size. I’ve never found a 20mm strap that didn’t fit the FOIS with a little gentle pressure on the sides when fitting. In fact, I like 20mm straps better because they fill the gap more — I find 19mm straps leave a little space on the sides.

I’m currently wearing mine on a 20mm Omega deployant strap.

Also, as far as the Speedy Pro being more “under the radar” — I don’t find the FOIS gets any attention at all when I wear it. Most people wouldn’t notice either. Get the one that makes YOU smile. For me, it was the FOIS by a long shot. Good luck in your search.

I have searched the forums and can't find an answer, but who manufacturers the FOIS strap? I contacted Jean Rousseau and they said they can't confirm it, but if the strap has a serial beginning with CW that would help them in identifying it. It doesn't from what I can see in photos online and the 98000409 omega part number doesn't help them oddly enough. Does anyone know?

No idea, I thought it was JR. Here are some pics of mine, hopefully they may help. Note not being used on a FOIS!
